💙 SBA Weekly Adventures

Our SBA students have had an exciting couple of weeks filled with learning, exploration, and fun!

Last week, students enjoyed an amazing trip to Franklin Park Zoo, where they explored animal habitats, observed wildlife from around the world, and engaged in real-world learning experiences outside the classroom.

Today, students continued the adventure with a beautiful trip to the Swan Boats, enjoying time outdoors, taking in the sights of Boston Common.

These experiences are about so much more than field trips. They provide opportunities for students to build relationships, practice social skills, strengthen independence, and connect classroom learning to the world around them.

We are already looking forward to next week’s adventure!

💙 SBA Strong! 🦁

Friendly Reminder Families! 📚✍🏽

If you have not yet signed your child’s IEP, please take a moment to review and return it as soon as possible. Parents always have the option to accept or reject the IEP; however, signed documents help us remain in compliance and ensure that any agreed-upon services and supports can be properly implemented for your child.

Please check your child’s book bag for any outstanding paperwork.

✨ Students who return their signed IEP paperwork will have an opportunity to win prizes! ✨

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little girl, Jakiyah! 🎉💖

We hope you enjoyed being celebrated today by your SBA family. Your smile and sweet spirit light up the classroom, and we are so happy to celebrate YOU!

A special shout out to her classmate Chase and his mom, Brittany, for providing the beautiful flowers and pizza for the celebration today. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated! 🍕✨

This week, our SBA students are off to the Children’s Museum! 🎉

We only have a small group of students making up MCAS testing, so students should still report to school as scheduled. Students do not need any money for this trip. If you would like to send your child with a special lunch, please feel free to do so. Otherwise, lunch will be provided by the school.

We are looking forward to a fun and engaging day of learning and exploration! 😊

As we conclude Teacher Appreciation Week-today we celebrated our incredible SBA team.

Every single day, our team shows up with patience, compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to supporting our students academically, socially, and emotionally. The work they do is not always easy, but they continue to lead with heart and create a safe, supportive, and loving environment for our children.

Today was about celebrating them and reminding them just how valued and appreciated they truly are. 🍎✨

Hello SBA Families,

We are excited to kick off our Fun Fridays!

Please be on the lookout for one permission slip that will cover all Friday field trips for the months of May and June. Instead of sending home a new permission slip each week, this one form will allow students who have met scoreboard expectations to participate in our weekly Friday trips.

We are planning visits to places such as the Children’s Museum, the zoo, the MFA, the Museum of Science, and Northeastern University’s campus. Each week, I will post an update letting families know where we are headed that Friday.

Please reach out with any questions.

Also, a big shout-out to all of our students who took the Math MCAS today! Please continue to make sure your child is well-rested and prepared. Makeups will take place for students who were absent or did not test yesterday or today.
