After 17 days and 1,000 miles, mother orca Tahlequah drops her dead calf 08/13/2018

I have been following this story for the last 17 days, as I’m sure many of you have been. It’s a heartbreaking story that resonates with many women at Boston Integrated Health, women who have lost babies, and longed for a pod of women to surround them, who not only acknowledged their grief, but helped them grieve - literally holding her and her baby.

Many women in our practice feel the opposite —that people are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with their grief, and they have to distance themselves.

We see you. We will hold all that you feel for as long as you need us.

Maria has been writing a lot about the movie Tully. Will you be seeing it? We recommend bringing a good friend with whom you can grab dessert afterwards. It's not a comedy, thought it is marketed as one, and there's a lot to unpack. https://www.amomisborn.com/blog/tully-part-2-the-descent-into-madness

Have people told you to “Just relax” about getting pregnant?
“The counsellor reminded me that people still got pregnant and gave birth during civil wars and that this was a stressful situation and I was allowed to feel stressed about it. Just hearing that took such a weight off my shoulders. So my advice to other couples is allow yourself to feel whatever it is you feel during this journey and don't feel bad about it. This journey is difficult enough without you beating yourself up for feeling what comes naturally.”

Ontario Mom With Infertility Reminds Others It’s OK To Feel Stressed Lily Gutman is still trying for baby number two.

Postpartum Perfectionism 03/27/2018

The latest blog post from Maria is about postpartum perfectionism, which can also show up in pregnancy! Many are proud of perfectionism, as it's a trait of commitment and detail, but sometimes it doesn't serve in the same way for major life transitions -- especially the ones out of our control.

Postpartum Perfectionism In Silicon Republic , Eva Short wrote about this fantastic infographic from CashNetUSA , illustrating perfectionism and its potential dangers in a professional setting. Because...

Trying to Get Pregnant Took Over My Life — Here's How I Got It Back 03/14/2018

One woman’s story of how she intentionally opted out in order to willingly opt back in.

“And so I dipped out for a while. W**d. Crystal healings. A tattoo appointment. These experiences brought me back to myself, before my self was consumed by pregnancies. When each moment wasn’t defined by how pregnant I was or wasn’t, and my body belonged to me.”

Trying to Get Pregnant Took Over My Life — Here's How I Got It Back It involves going to a w**d dispensary while my son was at preschool.
