Grandma’s marathon - 2:48:55 ✅
Marathon #4 on the year and 3rd in 3 months! This one was especially tough with the heat and humidity. I was hoping for a sub 2:45 but after the first 10k I knew that probably wasn’t going to happen with the given conditions. But still gave it my best effort! Consumed all 2,500 mg of sodium I carried by mile 17 and had to rely on the blue Powerade on the course, hence the blue mouth. 😂 Good times! 💪

Kinda enjoying this marathon thing 😆 Ran the local and clocked a 2:47, shaving about 45 seconds off from Boston just 4 weeks ago. The race kit was on point and the fueling program was dialed thanks to .second !

🔹7 gels for 210 grams of carbs total
🔹90 grams of carbs/hour
🔹800 mg of sodium/hour
🔹2,400 mg of sodium total

And of course I have the best support crew out there! 🙌❤️

Boston Marathon 2025 ✅
I’ve competed in front of +60,000 fans many times throughout my racing career, but I can pretty confidently say I’ve never seen crowds like at yesterday’s 129th annual Such a cool experience!!
Also, the fact that a 6:23 minute/mile pace for a 2:48 marathon is only good enough for 1,978th place is insane. There are some seriously fit people out there! Either way I had a blast, suffered a good bit and am stoked to check this one off the bucket list! 🙌

I may or may not have trained for this race… 😅
All jokes aside the is an incredibly gnarly race! 53 km (33 miles) and over 3,500 feet of elevation gain. The hills were relentless! I started in wave 6 and bobbed and weaved through over 500 skiers, in the process crashing at least 6 or 7 times. Managed to finish in 4 hours 21 minutes - 570th/1,626 - 160 Avg HR - 183 Max HR - 3,345 Calories
Huge shout out to my support crew and also to and for the skis! And can’t forget the wax hook up from and the boys! Can’t wait for next year!

Chipping away ⏳🏃♂️💨
Mesa Marathon 2025: 2:45:39 – a nearly 5-minute PR!
Marathon #6 in the books, and the pace is getting faster each year! From 2:59 ➡️ 2:50 ➡️ 2:45, it’s been a journey of patience, consistency, and a lot of miles. Training smarter, increasing volume, and dialing in the nutrition details have all played a role.
This race was all about ex*****on – controlled pacing, trusting the legs, and digging deep when it counted. Fired up to keep chasing those limits!
Onward to the next one! 🔥🏁

Congrats on a fantastic career ! Not many people understand the day in and day out grind of our sport, and the toll it takes both mentally and physically. You did it for 18 years and you did it well. Glad we are able to share the grind together for many of those years and create some awesome memories. Cheers to whatever the next stage of life holds bro. 🍻

Running has become quite the hobby for me since retirement!
Training for marathons has helped scratch the competitive itch, and reinforced the fact that the more you put in the more you get out. It took 3,000 miles over the last year and upping my weekly mileage from 40-50 to 70-80 miles to drop 9 minutes. No instant gratification here, just consistency and patience.
This was also a good reminder that losing weight doesn’t always mean increased fitness. I managed to get faster while weighing 5 pounds more. How you might ask? I prioritized fueling/eating well for all training sessions and didn’t care about the scale. All I knew was I felt good and that my running fitness was improving. That was enough for me.
Patience is key. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is fitness. Trust the process, stay committed, and celebrate every milestone along the way. Next up ➡️ Sub 2:45! 🏃♂️💥
