NW Youth Regional Champsionships ‘26 Recap
What a weekend and a season for ERC! This past weekend at youth regionals, our athletes showed exactly what adaptability, resilience, and hard work look like. Through rain and shine, each crew threw down hard fought performances.
The highlights included nearly 62% of all ERC entries advanced to A finals, four crews earning podium finishes! And 14 athletes punched their tickets to Youth Nationals as members of qualifying crews.

Day 2 of Regionals is done and dusted! ERC had a spectacular day on the water, throwing down in the finals and snagging some podium finishes. Every crew showed up today with resilience, grit, and determination as we gear up for one final day of racing!

Last but certainly not least for senior spotlights we have, Lucy Davis 🚣🏻♀️🎓
Fueled each season by bolt energy chews and chocolate chips, Lucy has been a steadfast teammate and athlete at ERC during her time here.
From a historic moment of racing the W Youth 2- semifinal at Youth Nationals ‘25, to going to San Diego Crew classic 2026 with the team and racing the W4x. She leaves behind a hard to miss impact both off and on the water.
What are you most thankful this sport gave you?:
“A community of people who believe in me and push me to be my best self.”
What do you hope you get athletes carry forward from your senior class?
“Resilience and excellence. I hope that future athletes are inspired by this class’s dedication and ability to persist through disappointments and injuries. I hope they take away that even though we are a small club, we can make a big impact and do great things.”

After graduation, Lucy will be attending Oregon State University Honors College, and has committed to row on the OSU Women’s Rowing Team.

Fueled by Motts and coconut water, Henry has been a dedicated teammate here at ERC.
From racing at the HOCR in the Men’s Youth 8+ this season, to carpooling to Dexter with the guys every day. Not only has ERC left its mark, but he leaves behind an impact both on and off the water.

Fueled each season by hardcore Apple rockstar and pretzels, Levi has been a dedicated teammate and athlete at ERC during his time here.
From charging down the race course in the PFC MU17 4x+, to sitting in on various team meetings for Frostbite and HOTL. He leaves behind an unmistakable impact both off and on the water.
What lesson from this team will stay with you?:
“Trust is important.”

“The 8+, and max watts.”
What teammates do you look up to the most?
“Leo, Owen, Calvin, and Timmy.”
After graduation, Levi will be attending College of the Holy Cross and will be studying Biology. Additionally, he has committed to and will be rowing for the Holy Cross Men’s Rowing Team.

Next up with senior spotlights we have, Sheridan Schilling 🚣🏻♀️🎓
Fueled by cliff bars and Chipotle, Sheridan has been an outstanding teammate and athlete at ERC during her time here.
From racing at JR’s CBR in the 2x, to getting ready for the highschool 8+ with the women’s team and their wigs. She leaves behind an impact both off and on the water, and the team has done the same for her.
If you could thank the team for one thing what would it be?:
“I would like to thank them for accepting me into their family, and guiding me through this process. I was immediately comfortable and confident thanks to them!”
Advice for future rowers?:
“I would say to not be afraid to make mistakes. I think that being nervous about embarrassment held me back for a while. Everyone has been in your shoes at some point, and we are all in the same boat (literally).”
What do you hope younger athletes carry forward from your senior class?:
“There is a beautiful balance between working hard in athletics and balancing other aspects of your life. Find the balance and prioritize future planning.”
After graduation, Sheridan will be attending Harvard to study Government, pre-med, and attain to commission as a Naval officer.

Next for Senior Spotlights we have, Elliot Thorstenson 🚣🏻♀️🎓
Fueled by fruit snacks and chocolate fairlife protein shakes, Elliot has been a dedicated teammate and athlete at ERC during his time here.
From racing at Windermere cup, to lining up alongside in the 8+ to throwdown some sprint work at practice. ERC has not only left an impact on him as an athlete, but he has left one both on and off the water.
If you could thank the team for one thing what would it be?:
“For making practices something I looked forward to.”
Advice for future rowers and younger athletes?:
“Hopefully, they remember how to stay committed through the tough days. Still finding ways to compete and enjoying the process together as a team.”
Teammate you look up to the most?:
“Henley, because I wish I could be as good a dog as him.”
After graduation, Elliot plans to attend Lane Community College and pursue a degree in paramedicine.

Time for senior spotlights! First up, we have Victor Hunter 🚣🏻♀️🎓
Fueled by cliff bars before practice, and “CHOCOLATE” milk after, Victor has been a committed teammate here at ERC whether it’s throwing down for a marathon or 2k!
From his favorite race, Windermere Cup, to making memories at SDCC in San Francisco. Spending time with his teammates, renting scooters, and exploring the city. He leaves behind an impact both on and off the water.
