The most iconic Land Rovers in existence, Trophy Camel trucks, back by the most iconic skyline, NYC.
-
The Camel Trophy was a Land Rover sponsored off roaring expedition that pitted teams from all around the world against each other in a collaborative off-roading challenge. Run from 1980-2000, it ventured throughout the world from the Sahari desert to jungles of Central America and beyond.
-
I spotted the iconic paint from a few blocks away and was thrilled to have stumbled upon , a shop dedicated to the art of restoring Land Rovers, Spencer to your hearts desire. Super cool.

A couple of the 90’s greatest hits.
-
One is an over engineered example of Japan’s late 80’s early 90’s bubble economy when no expenses were spared given seemingly endless upward trajectory of economic growth (see: four wheel steering, power folding mirrors/door locks, a well balanced and formidable 2.0 liter square turbocharged motor, heads up display, all on a car marketed to the secretaries of the time). Later to be realized into an icon of street racing subculture; the s13 Silvia.
-
The other represents a revered company still clinging to the concept of hand built, simple yet perfectly engineered (see: pinnacle of air cooled German engineering having perfected what’s essentially a souped up VW bug over a period of 40 years). A company that was entering the beginning of what could have been the end of Porsche as a business, given they were about to go into bankruptcy just a few years later due to the inability (stubbornness or unwillingness?) to scale production and become profitable. Later to be realized as the pinnacle of old school [aircooled] Porsches; the 993.

Two pivotal eras for two legacy brands that left us with two grails.

Nine years ago I connected with a father looking to find an immediate alternative to the apartment they’d rented sight-unseen for their son moving to Boston for college. It was a bad situation and they needed guidance and a calm mind.
-
Eight years ago we worked together to securing a beautiful condo in the South End for the son to establish themselves as a young professional.
-
One year ago we hatched a plan on how to take the next steps to upgrade to proper home in the city and began searching.
-
Five months ago we launched phase two of the plan, listing their condo for sale, offered privately given the ever challenging home sale contingency requirement.
-
Three months ago we secured an offer to purchase a beautiful renovated home for the next chapter of their lives. That same day we secured an offer to sell their condo, possible from the previous two month’s of work marketing it via company tools and 14 years of connections.
-
One month ago we successfully closed on the incredible penthouse duplex in the city and sold the first condo. We closed within a week of each other.

Studio extinguisher for when the music is 🔥 Also an extinguisher if the studio is ever on 🔥.
Interesting backstory on the art piece: it was entered into a Fort Point young artist’s exhibit back in the 80’s. I acquired it from a seller after my clients purchased their home. The artist went on to become a well known calligrapher. The piece is made of pen and paper. One day I’ll glue it all back together.
