Happy Nurses Week! Nurses play such an extraordinary role in the health care system, and especially here at BHCHP. Often the first and most frequent point of care and comfort for so many patients, our nurses go above and beyond – every single day – to provide the highest quality health care to our patients. Whether they are based in outpatient clinics or in our 24/7 medical respite facility or in various administrative and leadership roles, their dedication to BHCHP’s mission and the people we serve knows no bounds.

We’re lucky to be in the company of so many hardworking, resourceful, and skilled nursing professionals. Thank you for choosing BHCHP because we wouldn’t be who we are without you!

Our sincere gratitude to our Legacy sponsors – Bank of America, Biogen, Boston Bruins Foundation, Suffolk Construction, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals – and Champion sponsors – Boston.com, Cramer, Highland Street Foundation, Jean C. Tempel, and The Boston Globe.

Who run the world?! BHCHP volunteers! This National Volunteer Week, we want to give a special shout-out to our amazing volunteers who generously share their time, energy, ideas, and spirit with our community. Your work makes a big dent in our ability to provide the highest quality health care to our patients, and we’re profoundly grateful for your devoted care and enthusiasm.

Our volunteers step up whenever and wherever they are needed across the program – from running a diverse array of patient activities, to organizing donation drives at their school or workplace, to assisting our clinical teams with patient care coordination, to rallying their networks to attend/donate to our events, and so much more. And of course, we can’t forget our four-legged friends who visit us every Thursday from the Healing Pups program at Boston Medical Center.

Thank you for making BHCHP a place of hope and healing for everyone!

A super-charged high-five to our marathon runners, Pat Breen and Fr. John Predmore, on successfully completing the 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America! This year’s team has inspired the support of so many people, raising over $68,000—and counting! —to support BHCHP and the patients we serve.

Thanks to our partnership with the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, BHCHP is able to field a marathon team that not only raises critically needed funds, but also compassion and support for our patients, as they take part in one of the most iconic sporting events that unites our beautiful city with the rest of the country and world. It’s such an honor to be a part of this historic event, and to cheer on our Team BHCHP runners each year!

There is still a chance to support the heroic efforts of our Team BHCHP runners and make a difference in the lives of our patients--just follow this link! https://bit.ly/4bm9fUQ

Join us in sending wishes for good health and gentle tailwinds for our 2026 Marathon team as they take on the world’s foremost 26.2 miles tomorrow! Our staff came out in force to cheer on this year’s Team BHCHP (Pat Breen, a longtime volunteer from Liberty Mutual Insurance, and Fr. John Predmore, running his 4th Boston Marathon for us!) at our annual Pep Rally on Friday.

And although we’re sad to report that our third runner will be missing her debut at the Boston Marathon due to an injury, this selected trio have raised a high bar with their fundraising efforts! There’s still time to support them with a meaningful gift to BHCHP, if you’re able. Please click here to learn more. https://bit.ly/4bm9fUQ

Recently, we brought back the annual Employee Recognition Event and celebrated our staff’s 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and even 40-year anniversaries alongside other outstanding individual achievements! It’s our version of the Academy Awards, but even more inspiring, and our heartiest congrats to the 100+ staff who were honored at this festive event!

For four decades, BHCHP has remained a trusted provider of lifesaving health care to our patients, and that’s been made possible by the dedicated people who choose to work here. We’re immensely appreciative of our amazing staff who go above and beyond for those we serve and the partners we work alongside.

BHCHP nurse Madeline King has been nominated to throw the first pitch during the Boston Red Sox Nurse Night event on May 13 – and she needs your vote to make it happen!

Madeline first volunteered at BHCHP while in nursing school and joined us as a per diem staff last year, covering shifts primarily at our flagship (and largest) outpatient clinic located in the South End. She’s set to complete her nurse practitioner studies soon, and we hope she’ll stay with us to continue serving a patient population she admires.

Visit this website to vote for Madeline by April 5th and help us spread the good work of all BHCHP nurses! https://bit.ly/4clUhzQ

Immense gratitude to everyone who joined us at The Winter Walk last Sunday! The grey and chilly weather couldn’t dampen your spirits. Your firm presence and generous support were truly uplifting.

This year, BHCHP had over 175 registrants and ten teams, and altogether we raised nearly $45,000 in essential funding for BHCHP. It was truly wonderful to meet so many new faces and reconnect with old friends - a special shoutout to fundraising powerhouse COPE and longtime champion Notre Dame Club of Boston for their exceptional contributions.

At a time when BHCHP faces threats to critical funding streams, every dollar raised through the Winter Walk is a meaningful contribution to advancing our mission. We sincerely appreciate your commitment to the wellbeing of our patients. If you haven’t been able to donate to our Winter Walk effort and would like to, please make a gift by March 31. https://bit.ly/4jtNG8H
