Puerto Rico's mobile market is rapidly evolving.
Click here to read which operators is winning the Coverage Experience award. https://hubs.la/Q04k3y_j0
Which users experience Puerto Rico's fastest mobile speeds?
Which operator is expanding its presence across multiple categories?
Market Overview:
Claro announced a US$500 million, three-year investment plan to accelerate fiber and 5G modernization across the island, with the goal of extending 5G coverage beyond the 95% of Puerto Rico's territory it currently reaches and strengthening network resilience against hurricanes and tropical storms. The 2026 allocation alone is approximately US$150 million, representing the first phase of the broader three-year program.
In this report we examine the mobile network experience of the three main mobile network operators in Puerto Rico: Claro, Liberty and T-Mobile.

The market is pricing Starlink on hype. We have the data.
With SpaceX's IPO on the horizon, Starlink is one of the most closely watched names in the market. But between the press releases and the analyst notes, a fundamental question often goes unanswered:
What does the ground-level subscriber and network data actually show?
That's where Opensignal comes in.
Join our team of experts for an exclusive briefing on Market Share, Competitive Dynamics, and Network Performance. This is a data session, built specifically for investors and analysts who need independent, real-world intelligence to pressure-test their Starlink thesis.

At Opensignal, we spend our days measuring how networks perform. But increasingly, the question isn't just how fast a network is - it's how efficiently it gets there.
As 5G deployment accelerates globally, one of its most underreported benefits is energy efficiency. More data, delivered with less power per bit. That shift matters. Networks are infrastructure, and infrastructure has a footprint.
Our data shows that consumers are spending more time connected than ever before.
The networks carrying that traffic are under pressure to scale sustainably. The operators building for tomorrow aren't just competing on speed - they're competing on how smartly they use resources to deliver it.
We're proud to hold ourselves to the same standard.
Last month, Opensignal received SBTi approval, meaning our emissions reduction targets have been independently validated against current climate science. It covers all three scopes, including the supply chain and business travel that make Scope 3 so hard to get right. We built a credible roadmap and had it verified. That's what accountability looks like.
You can't improve what you can't measure. And measurement, as it turns out, is exactly what we do.

What is World Cup connectivity going to look like?
The World Cup will bring a huge influx of people to just a handful of locations, and everyone will be expecting seamless connectivity to be able to navigate the game, share updates with friends and stay connected. In response, operators have invested heavily in networks in and around the main stadiums. But which providers excel, and where?

Home Wi-Fi is under pressure. Device density is climbing, applications are getting more demanding, and user expectations keep rising. Legacy approaches aren't keeping up.
So what does the data actually tell us about how home Wi-Fi networks are performing today?
Our own Andrey Popov will be sharing the latest Opensignal insights at a Wi-Fi Now webinar this Tuesday, June 2 at 5:00 pm CEST / 8:00 am PST
He'll be joined by Erik Sรธe-Pedersen of ADB Global and Patrick Zhang of Qualcomm to explore how AI is reshaping home connectivity, from chipset-level intelligence to open, vendor-agnostic optimization.
Claus Hetting, CEO and Chairman of WIFI NOW will be hosting.
If you work in broadband, fixed-wireless, or home networking, this one's worth your time.

Our VP of Industry Analysis, Sylwia Kechiche, was in Samarkand last week for M360 Eurasia - and came back with a clear picture of where Central Asia's digital ambitions stand versus where the infrastructure actually is.
A few things that stood out:
Uzbekistan went from 35% mobile broadband coverage in 2017 to 99.5% in 2026. That's the kind of trajectory that turns sovereignty talk into something real - and it's now backing that up with sovereign AI infrastructure, an independent telecom regulator, and a national AI education program that's already reached over a million young people.
But ambition alone doesn't close the gap. As Sylwia put it in the session she moderated on infrastructure reliability: there's a persistent distance between what operators invest in networks and what users actually experience. That's the problem Opensignal data is built to measure - and the one this region needs to solve as it races toward 5G and AI.
The conversations ranged from satellite partnerships filling coverage gaps across Kazakhstan's vast geography, to the "digital operator" pivot that's becoming a survival strategy rather than a side project, to the honest reality that you can't have a meaningful AI conversation when 90 million people in Pakistan still lack internet access.
