Another day, another development milestone in Pittsburgh! Today we celebrated the grand opening of The Standard on Fifth with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This mixed-income community in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood was co-developed in partnership with Uptown Partners of Pittsburgh and features 51 new homes — 40 of which are affordable.

“Beacon is committed to ensuring this city is thriving, moving forward, and that no matter your income, you have a quality place to live,” said Councilman Dan Lavelle, one of the many elected officials, community partners, and funders who joined us to officially cut the ribbon and welcome residents.

Yesterday we celebrated the progress we are making on three vital development projects in Downtown Pittsburgh. More than 80 guests, including city leaders, community partners, and funders, came together under a tent at 120 Cecil Place to talk about the more than 230 affordable homes under development at the May Building, Tessera (formerly known as 901/903 Liberty Ave), and 120 Cecil — homes for workers, families, students, and more, right in the heart of Pittsburgh.

“Downtown is not just a place to visit. It’s a place to stay, live, and work,” said Mayor Corey O’Connor in his remarks.

These developments represent not just a dramatic expansion of affordable housing access but also a collective vision for the future of Pittsburgh. Thank you to all the partners who share in this success and have helped us bring these developments to life.
