Jana Rago - Hair Stylist

Originally from the North End in Boston, Jana grew up in New Hampshire where she completed her cosmetology schooling at Continental Academy and began working at Acote ever since. She specializes in several areas including cutting, styling, extensions and color, has been certified in Cinderella hair extensions for nine years, and has established a wide client base in Boston, Miami and New York. Jana has been featured in major publications such as Boston Common Magazine, Boston.com, Scene Magazine, Stuff at Night and Martha Stewart’s Wedding Magazine. Videos of her updo work have also been featured theknot.com. In 2003, Jana was recognized as a world wide finalist in the Tocco Magico updo competition - placing 3rd in the United States, before competing in the finals in Rome, Italy. In addition to her work at Salon Acote, Jana worked as a fashion stylist at Ruelala from 2009 to 2011. Jana frequently participates in various charity events; most recently a Cancer Care Fashion show sponsored by Boston Medical Center. Jana has styled for an array of celebrities including Steven Tyler and Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith, Mary Louise Parker, and Kristine Lilly, Kate Markgraf and Angela Hucles of the USA women’s national soccer team. Most recently, Jana’s work has been shown in Oribe Rough Luxury Magazine and Boston Common Magazine. She assisted at NYC Fashion week 2012 with Mark Townsend for Rene Furterer with Elizabeth and James, and with Ramona for Oribe with Rad Hourani.
