Got a surprise visit from our Mayor today ..along with BPS Superintendent !
We ALSO were visited by Celeste Atallah -Gutiérrez, PhD. Clinician and Consultant of Boston Children's Hospital !!!! Who sat down and received a haircut performed by our Junior Student Milah!

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ACTION!
Yesterday our Junior Cosmetology Student expressed to us that she is trying to start a business of wearables and she's looking for a good start. So we told her bring them in today and let's start networking around the school (what better place to start right?) So we literally went door to door pitching her product. I would start and step back and she took over.
I was so happy and thankful to see teachers and staff ( Co-Op Coordinator , Medical Dept ,ISSN Asst Principal ,Media and Communication) supporting this young lady and they gave her a lot of good tips and business advice as well. Needless to say this young lady made over her goal in less than an hour. Mrs Tinsley (not pictured here) with right fist raised yelled out BLK BUSINESS!! ✊🏾✊🏾
Our Media and Communications Dept bought some too AND interviewed the student for a Spotlight Article!

The learning doesn't stop!..ZOOMING WITH MY FRESHMEN COSMO CLASS..thats Olivia beside me photobombing!SOOOOOO it took a while to get going with online instruction in the Virtual Classroom but it's pretty dope. I always mix it up and give my lessons using a different approach... My students learned about THE DANGERS OF BEING A BLACK WOMAN IN BRAZIL "...properties of the hair and scalp via FORENSIC PATHOLOGY SCIENCE.. .THE GENDER WAGE GAP..and of course we earned certifications SELF AWARENESS... MINDFULNESS...REDUCING STRESS... I just finished doing a Voiceover..cutting and editing a Video from Dove *that talks about Beauty and Bias😉😉😉

You can still look good in quarantine... If ur a stylist that is... 🤷🏾‍♀🤷🏾‍♀
