and around the world. The weather is getting colder, and the folks at Occupy Boston are going to need hats, gloves and scarves to keep them warm this winter.
Knitters for Occupy Boston is an informal group of knitters who support Occupy Boston, Occupy Wall Street and the other Occupy movements and encampments around the U.S. The goal of Knitters for Occupy Boston is to get knitters, crocheters and other crafters to make warm clothing for the courageous folks camping out at Dewey Square. Today is , the 3 month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street protest. Occupy Boston will be holding an ironic "pro-corporate" march, starting at the Boston Common bandstand at noon. There will also be a modern, occupy re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party at 4--check www.OccupyBoston.org for details!
Dearest Knitters -- I am feeling like there is still a great deal of solidarity and potential in our collective will. I would like to discuss ways we can support Occupy as it moves forward from this point. Maybe with potential yarnbombing projects? Would anyone be interested in pursuing some creative knit-action?

While at district 4 doing jail support for our arrested occupiers, I ran into Peri and Holly, both knitting away. This is what solidarity looks like!
At 5 this morning, Occupy Boston was raided by the Boston Police Department. More than 40 people were arrested and our camp was cleared. This movement is not over. There will be a GA at 7 tonight at the Boston Common bandstand. Please, come and show your support!
So if you haven't yet heard, the court decided to lift the temporary restraining order protecting occupy boston from eviction. This is the document outlining the judge's ruling. These are stressful times. If you have not already, join the Occupy Boston SMS emergency text system -- text OccupyBoston (no spaces, capital -O capital -B) to 443322!
Yayy!! Today is our 2nd KNIT IN! I propose we meet in the same spot as last time--right beside the little glass entry to south station. So excited!

Printing these up today and tomorrow to bring to local yarn shops--any suggestions? Also, please let me know if you want a high quality image so you can print and distribute this yourself :)
Today, I give thanks for concerned citizens using their minds and hands to fuel a revolution. I also invite us to consider the American Indians who called this land "home" long before we came here. Sending solidarity, love and light to you all! :)
