Thank You Fulbright was created to recognize the positive benefits that Fulbright scholars play in society. Selected letters from the 2012 and 2013 Collections are below, and letters for the 2014 collection can be submitted online at www.ThankYouFulbright.org. This Facebook group is also for coordinating events that current alumni and grantees may host during the week of April 5-April 11, 2014 to commemorate and celebrate Senator Fulbright and the spirit of the Fulbright Exchange Program.

This page has been pretty quiet for a while.
Senator Fulbright was born 115 years ago -- on April 9, 1905. While we missed the actual date (because of Covid), perhaps it would still be nice to share how a Fulbright scholarship changed your life.

Senator Fulbright was born on April 9, 1905. For the last few years, Fulbright grantees and alumni have gathered together on the anniversary of his birth to celebrate Fulbright's idea, to share how a Fulbright scholarship changed lives, and to meet potential partners for current or future projects. What are your plans for Saturday, April 9?

Reminder that the anniversary of the Birthday of Senator Fulbright is coming up in a few months. As in past years, individual alums and alumni groups are invited to host an event on April 9 in celebration of his birthday.

Here is an article on Dr. Zorica Pantic, the president of Wentworth Institute of Technology who came to the United States in 1984 as a Fulbrighter shortly after getting her doctorate in engineering. Her Fulbright took her to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for postdoctoral research in applied electromagnetics.

To Ambassador of Peru to the United States:

Your Excellency:

I write as a former Fulbright Scholar in Peru during 1974-75 during which I had the great pleasure of conducting research on the and fiscal and equity implications of migration to Lima in cooperation with the Consejo Provincial de Lima.

My year in Lima was among the most formative and productive of my life. With my wife and two young children, we experienced everyday the warmth and cordiality of the Limenos as well as Peru's cultural richness and extraordinary physical beauty. These experiences helped shape my passion of international affairs and global studies that continues to this day at both a professional and personal level. For that, I am eternally grateful to the Fulbright program which made it all possible.

Cordially,
Allen L. White, Ph.D.
