That's me (before violin became the main quest 🎻) And that's my mum, who was there at every lesson I ever took.

English wasn't our first language. But while my teacher explained everything from how to hold the violin to how to make a good sound, my mum listened, helped me remember, and kept track of what my teachers said when I was too young to understand half of it. Looking back, she was the teaching assistant without even realizing it.

But not every kid gets that. Most parents can't sit in on every lesson, and most students walk out remembering 2-3 things their teacher said out of twenty.
