Connor McDavid is the most wasted talent in NHL history.
Not because of anything he's done wrong. The man is a freak of nature, arguably the greatest player to ever lace up skates. But year after year, he plays his heart out in Edmonton and gets nothing. No Cup. No supporting cast worthy of his greatness. Watching McDavid is like watching Michelangelo paint with broken brushes.
History remembers champions. And if Edmonton doesn't get it together soon, the greatest player of his generation will retire with highlight reels instead of rings. That's not just a tragedy for McDavid. That's a failure of the entire franchise.
