'Foster Care Alumni' are people who can answer 'yes' to the following questions:
Are you 18 - 108? Did you experience 'foster care' for any period of time in any US state or country in the world? NOTE: 'Foster Care' means a government or a social service agency removes a person from the care of their biological parents of origin and places them in a variety of settings which can include foster homes, group care and kinship care (aka other family members). Foster care alumni may also have been reunified (aka return home), be guardianed or adopted following time in foster care or continue with DCF after the age of 18.

We’re excited to share Stasa Forward, a career readiness program created by Isabel Stasa, MPA, and brought to our MassNFCA community this fall!
Isabel is a nationally recognized, transformative Lived Experience Advocate in child welfare, and she created this program to support people currently in foster care and alumni of foster care as they navigate their career journeys.
Whether you’re looking for your first job, preparing to enter the workforce, or considering a career pivot, Stasa Forward will cover:

✨ Networking basics
✨ Employment readiness
✨ Resume and cover letter training
✨ And more

Let’s cook together! 👩🍳✨
Join us for a virtual cooking social on Friday, September 25th from 6–8 PM ET! We’ll cook a recipe together step-by-step, share some good food, and spend time connecting with fellow alumni of foster care and out-of-home placement. Allies are welcome, too!
Alumni who register by September 13th can receive a FREE meal kit mailed to their household, with ingredients for:
-BBQ Chicken Pasta
-Pasta Primavera
-Couscous with Roasted Vegetables & Feta
Meal kits are limited to one per household and available to alumni only. If you’re an ally or registering after September 13th, you’re still invited to join and cook with your own ingredients!
Recipes can be adapted to be vegan/vegetarian, and we’ll work with alumni who have food allergies to find other options.

Join MassNFCA for a fall afternoon at Honey Pot Hill Orchards in Stow on Saturday, September 26 at 12:30 PM!
Your registration includes a ½ peck apple-picking bag, c***r donut, caramel apple, c***r guzzler, hayride, and entrance to the hedge maze. 🍏🍩🚜
This event is for people currently in foster care and alumni of foster care. Allies of foster care alumni are welcome to attend when they are attending with someone with lived experience, and families are welcome, too!
Important: You must arrive by 1 PM to receive your ticket and apple-picking bag from MassNFCA. The nearest commuter rail stop is South Acton.

Join MassNFCA on Thursday, November 19th for an evening of good food, community, and connection at The White Room in Worcester.
We’re bringing alumni of foster care and out-of-home placement together around the table for a Thanksgiving celebration—and we’d love to have you there!

Friends of Foster Care (allies) are welcome to attend if they are attending with an alum or someone currently experiencing foster care.
