Running With Music
Love to run. Love music. Love to run with music. masters runner & music lover with a coffee problem. crazy about my kids, miles, music & mochas.
I mean, having my girls home for Mother’s Day would be as good as it gets. Sadly, they are in college & can’t skip their exams. I suppose finishing my run at a magical coffee truck will have to do.
A friend recently asked me what my goal is with my social media. It’s an interesting question. I didn’t create this account with a goal. I was using it as a way to connect with others, to share & compare stories & experiences, to ask questions & ideally, to get some laughs - with me or at me, doesn’t matter. I suppose now I can say that I hope the things I share are interesting and/or relatable in some way. And if you get a good laugh once in a while, awesome. We all need more of it in our lives. Here’s a video I made back in February. I needed to get a run in before one of our track meets but I also really needed coffee after the run. Obvs. So, I finished my run at a Dunkin’, purchased a latte & ran with it back to the meet so I wouldn’t be late. As you can see, I was pretty proud of myself for getting it all done. This one always makes me laugh. I’m a runner, a music lover, a coach &, yes, a total dork. I’m good with all of it. Thanks for following along in whatever way that you do.
Making plans to meet for coffee & a run in my 30s versus today at 51.
Over the next few weeks I plan to embark on a coffee escapade. claims the Boston-area coffee shops listed below are worth a visit. I’m going to try to hit each one. If there’s a recommended drink, I’ll go with their suggestion. If you live in the area or you’re familiar with one of these top spots, shoot me a note. Coffee is better with friends. We all know this. That said, I’ll be going no matter what. So stay tuned for the reviews. Yes, I’m ridiculously excited for this!

Her: I don’t think I can race today.
Me: I know you can.
This one really stumped me. You can have running or coffee. But only one. For the rest of your life. What do you choose? I couldn’t answer it.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Let’s discuss. I’m a pretty healthy person.
Good sleep ✅
Exercise ✅
Solid nutrition ✅

My HRV is 29. Which most would be concerned about. Honestly, I’m not the least bit worried. But, I am curious. Whether you’re an expert or not, what do you think? Do you measure yours? Is it high? Low? Impacted by things beyond our control? A ridiculous measure & shouldn’t be tracked? Please chime in!
New series. 50s vs 30s. The differences between these two life stages has been a hot topic for me & my friends lately. So, I’m fully diving in. I recently shared that my procrastination skills have improved dramatically as I’ve gotten older. Not always a good thing. Whatever. On another note, today, at 51, I couldn’t care less about my mileage being perfect & will no longer run around in circles to get to a round number. At least I’m a little more efficient in this case. Kind of offsets my procrastination problem. Who’s with me on this one?

I have one, & only one, friend who likes coffee as much as I do. Maybe more. I know. Nuts. When I saw this meme I immediately sent it to her. Bc I really just can’t imagine & I knew she’d understand. It’s really nice to have a person in my life who gets it.
Some key takeaways from my with First, if you’re gonna go see live music, you must ride a bike to the show. Second, vanilla soft serve with a rainbow sprinkle (singular) is just about as good as it gets. And last, if you’re young, stop worrying so much about what people think about you. Bc you’re gonna end up not caring when you’re older anyway. Absolutely loved spending time with this mom-influencer-runner-all around super cool cat. Get to know more about Laura Green. You won’t be disappointed. ☕️🗣️
