An inspiring day of connection, learning, and new opportunities! ✨
Approach was honored to be invited to a special event at MIT, and we were proud to bring our entire team together to be part of this experience.
Moments like this reflect what we believe in: staying close, growing together, building meaningful connections, and creating opportunities that inspire both personal and professional growth.
We are grateful for the invitation and excited to continue opening doors, strengthening our community, and exploring new possibilities together.
Because at Approach, every connection can lead to a new opportunity. 💙
Continuous learning is essential in a world where education, technology, and work are changing quickly. ✨
Today, our Professional Development session included a live training from MIT focused on Artificial Intelligence and the ways AI is reshaping education, the workplace, and the future of learning.
For our team, moments like this are an opportunity to keep learning, challenge assumptions, exchange ideas, and better understand the changes shaping the people and communities we serve. 📚💡

After Marlborough, our CEO, Michelle Fernandes, Michelle Fernandes , was in Allston today to meet personally with students, answer their questions, and discuss how to make informed decisions about their academic and professional paths.
Two conversations that reflect a core Approach principle: providing transparent guidance, acting with integrity, and putting our responsibility to students at the center of every decision.

Strong institutions stay close to the communities they serve.✅
Today, at our Marlborough campus, Approach CEO Michelle Fernandes met directly with international students during our Open House, creating space for questions, concerns, reliable information, and open dialogue. 💻
Tomorrow, the conversation continues in📍Allston.
Listening to our students helps us understand what they are experiencing and how we can better support the international community we serve.

While you wait for a translation, someone fluent has already read it, understood it, and acted on it.
Over half of the internet, and the majority of academic research, is published in English first. Translated content is filtered content.
Save this. Then ask yourself what you’ve been waiting to read secondhand.

Your visa and your immigration status are not the same thing, and understanding the difference is essential for every international student in the U.S. 🇺🇸
A visa allows you to request entry into the United States. Your status determines how long you may remain in the country and which immigration rules you must follow while you are here.
For F-1 international students, maintaining status generally includes staying enrolled full-time, meeting academic and attendance requirements, following the rules for online classes, and speaking with your DSO before making important decisions about travel, employment, transferring schools, or changing programs.
Your visa may expire while you are inside the U.S., but your F-1 status can remain valid as long as you continue meeting the applicable requirements.
When in doubt, do not rely only on information from friends or social media. Talk to your DSO before taking action.
Save this post and share it with another international student who needs to know the difference. 💛

Volunteering can be a meaningful part of the international student journey in the U.S.
It can help students practice English, connect with the local community, build confidence, develop important skills, and strengthen their resume.
But it is also important to understand what truly counts as volunteer work, especially for F-1 students.
In our new blog, we explain how volunteer work can support your growth, how to include volunteer experience on your resume, what students should be careful about, and where to find volunteer-related opportunities in Massachusetts.
At Approach, we are here to be more than a school.
We are a hub where international students can stay connected to resources, events, community opportunities, student updates, and information that truly matters.
