Allan Byamukama has lived with the pain of sickle cell disease for 34 years. He graciously allowed me to be in the room as he became one of the first in the world to receive Casgevy, a groundbreaking gene therapy for the disease, @massgeneral . His positivity is inspiring. And I continue to be awed at the care the staff provides, and what can be gained when research is championed.
