Rare finds. Real craftsmanship. Rooms that can’t be copied or generated.❤️

Because there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a problem solved beautifully.

Here’s a before and after of the closet we carved out of an awkward hallway corner packed with outgrown furniture and forgotten drawings (swipe right). This gave each twin her own closet in the bedroom, and a new fringed curtain and vanity set made the vibes fancy.

Moving the beds to the middle wall of the room freed up the opposite corner for the other twin, who now has a new dresser chic enough to keep beyond college and a dedicated spot to display a framed photo of her great-great-grandfather’s baseball team.

Same square footage, entirely new POVs.

These two trained me.

Not in the traditional way, but in the years of sleepless nights, toddler negotiations, learning to hold my ground while also knowing when to bend.

Last week I sat in a meeting with several men who clearly prefer to keep things familiar and uninspired. “I’ve never known a designer who does that,” one grumbled about a simple lighting request. Well I guess you don’t me, sir. The old me would have questioned that choice. Possibly stayed small in the moment. Not this me.

That confidence around construction didn’t come from nowhere. It grew over time at home — working through projects with my husband, slowly building the vocabulary and the feel for when to push back and how. In a world that still has what feels like the longest way to go towards giving women the respect we deserve, I’m convinced even the smallest conversations can shift perspectives.

Being a mother first didn’t slow me down in business. It made me better at it. To every mom building something — the skills you think are just parenting are in fact the richest education.

Mischief, managed📝🐉

Designing this secret study/play space for a pair of 9-year-old potterheads brought out my inner wizard. A hidden entrance, castle-inspired desks, and enchanting wallpaper gifted by the muggles at make homework just a bit more magical.✨

I designed this custom bookshelf wall in the Fantasy Twins Suite to work hard—hold a lot of twin-sized stuff, offer cord cut-outs for electronics, make space for a cozy window seat (obviously) and hardest of all: hide a secret door to their playroom.

This slideshow shows how the process takes daily decision making and problem solving to get it right along the way—which is exactly why you hire a designer (saving you time *and* money! ).

Shout-out to for cleverly figuring out how to conceal the door reveal (grooves along the trim throughout the shelves make it look intentional). As for how to open the door? Well that takes a bit of magic…🧙🏻‍♀️🪄

The Fantasy Twins Suite, revealed ✨

What started as two awkward, disconnected rooms is now one dreamy space designed for two very different growing girls.

Proof that good design isn’t just about making things pretty—it’s about making space for everyone to feel at home.💞
