Finished another set of Stretch Therapy workshops at Better Life With Yoga in Oxford, MA. In the first workshop, we used the chair to go over some incredible exercises for your neck and back - excellent for overcoming neck and back pains. In the second workshop, we focused on the lower body, from your feet/toes, calves, quads, all the way to hips. As usual, a great group of students who took time to take care of themselves to build a movable body!

Collaborating with Hotel AKA in Boston, we did a special class for the Boston Marathon coming up the day after. At a beautiful space arranged by the hotel, the students had a great time working on the exercises that are beneficial for the runners and alike!

Continuing the collaboration with Better Life With Yoga in Oxford, MA, two more workshops have been scheduled for May!
Both workshops will take place on May 2 (Saturday). We will utilize a chair for our practice in the first workshop, followed by a workshop of exploring different exercises for moving with grace and ease. Please check out the link below for more information and sign up!

In collaboration with Hotel AKA Backbay (a beautiful hotel), we will hold a special class designed to help you move with greater ease throughout your Boston marathon journey. Join a Stretch Therapy workshop to improve mobility, flexibility, and strength. It's perfect for supporting your marathon weekend performance!
Stretch Therapy is a safe and effective approach to building a more mobile, capable body. In this session, you’ll learn a series of unique exercises to begin your Stretch Therapy practice —techniques you can continue using long after the weekend.

Another fantastic partner-assisted Stretch Therapy exercise, for hip flexors and chest opening with a stick. It does take some practice to be stretched effectively and to assist safely! 💪

Partner-assisted exercises in Stretch Therapy can be extremely effective if practiced properly. The person who assists someone needs to demonstrate the proper techniques (hint: not about forcing), but also observe the reaction from an exercise to adjust accordingly. Here are some examples of being assisted recently by my student, Ricky.

Finished two more Stretch Therapy Boston workshops at Better Life With Yoga in Oxford today! The first workshop focused on hip mobility. The second workshop focused on neck and shoulders, which would help address neck and back pains. Both of them were packed with hardworking students to work toward moving with grace and ease. Spending 3 months traveling in South America last year, I got to share the techniques from Stretch Therapy with fellow travelers, tour leads, local athletes, Antarctica expedition crew, and others. I wished (and they did as well) that we had more time to practice together!

Happy New Year!
As a new year's motivation, here is a practice reference for a conditioning routine. It is a “light” sequence, although it depends on your goals and activity level.
You are recommended to explore the numbers of reps and sets that work for you. Start slow and build it up gradually. For example, it can be 10 reps x 3 sets for each exercise to begin with.
