Happy graduation, SCA Massachusetts AmeriCorps!

Andrea, one of our AmeriCorps Program Officers, recently attended the graduation of SCA Massachusetts AmeriCorps' 2022-2023 members. These members served for 7 months to build, protect, and restore trails across Massachusetts, constructing 3.5 miles of new trails, installing 100 rock steps, and building 5 bridges. Altogether, over 35 miles of trail were impacted during their service.

As a gift, SCA continued a long-standing tradition of giving each member a book that represented something unique about the member.

Strengthening your community through service and volunteerism

The Massachusetts Service Alliance is committed to increasing the number of people engaged in meaningful volunteer opportunities across Massachusetts that are both fulfilling for the volunteers and that meet critical needs in our communities.

Established in 1991, MSA is a private, nonprofit organization that serves as the state commission on service and volunteerism. Our mission is to catalyze the innovation and growth of service and volunteerism by creating partnerships that maximize resources, expertise, capacity and impact and to invest public and private funds in community-based organizations in a fair and equitable manner.

MSA promotes and supports service and volunteerism by investing public and private resources in community-based organizations that rely upon volunteers and people engaged in service to meet their community's needs. We administer the AmeriCorps State program for Massachusetts and the Commonwealth Corps program, as well as support for community service learning, and volunteer generation initiatives. We provide training and technical assistance to organizations to support their volunteer and service member management through one-on-one technical assistance, trainings and workshops throughout the year, and a bi-annual statewide conference on service and volunteerism.
