🎉 A decade of partnership. A remarkable milestone.
From 2015–2026, BPE was honored to serve as the Education Management Organization (EMO) for Dearborn STEM Academy, partnering with students, families, educators, the community, and BPS throughout the turnaround journey, and building a STEM Early College and Career Pathways model that prepares students for purposeful, wealth-building careers.
After more than 10 years of collaboration, Dearborn STEM Academy officially exited state turnaround on June 30, 2026. BPE's role as the school's EMO officially concluded—marking an important milestone in Dearborn's transformation and a testament to the dedication of its students, families, educators, and community partners.
While our role has evolved, our support continues. The Dearborn will continue as a Boston Teacher Residency site and will serve as a MA Educator Pathway partner school. BPE will also support the Early College and Innovation Pathways programs, and continue to support graduates through the Dearborn NEXT program.
Congratulations to the entire Dearborn community on an incredible achievement. We're grateful to have been part of this journey and look forward to continuing our work together in new ways.

July is a big month for the Boston Teacher Residency (), as one cohort graduates and another begins. Yesterday, we welcomed 30 aspiring educators to our 24th cohort of teacher residents!
BTR Orientation marks the beginning of a 13-month journey during which each teacher resident will get grounded in the history and context of education in Boston, complete masters level coursework, and spend a full year co-teaching in a Boston Public School classroom.
Over the coming year, these pre-service teachers will learn, grow, and lead alongside experienced mentors, building the skills and confidence to become exceptional teachers. It won't always be easy, but they'll have the support of their fellow teacher residents AND become a part of a diverse and committed community of over 800 BTR educators teaching across the city.
Welcome to the Boston Teacher Residency, Cohort 24. We're excited to be part of your journey and can't wait to see all you'll learn and accomplish in the year ahead!

Schools are under increasing pressure to demonstrate improvement, but data alone doesn't drive change. Strong systems do.
BPE's Strategic Data Use Workshop helps school and instructional leaders build practical systems that support continuous improvement and inform instructional decisions.
Over three days, teams will learn how to:
✔ Identify priorities and define success
✔ Collect and analyze data to monitor progress
✔ Strengthen communication and decision-making across teams
✔ Create action plans ready for school-year implementation
📅 August 4–6 or August 18–20

The Early Career Network is a school-year professional learning experience designed for teachers in their first three years. Designed and led by the Boston Teacher Residency (BTR), this regional program helps educators build practical classroom skills while connecting with a supportive cohort of peers.
Participants engage in a half-day launch workshop, Zoom PLC meetings throughout the year, small-group coaching, and an end-of-year celebration and showcase. Along the way, educators strengthen their practice in foundational areas: relationships, norms & expectations, planning practices, and classroom routines & structures.
Enrollment is open for individual educators and groups. Explore the program: https://services.bpe.org/early-career-network.

During College and Career Awareness Week, our Educator Pathway students stepped into leadership roles by visiting students in grades 3–5 to deliver engaging lessons they designed with guidance from their mentors. In total, seven students across three groups shared their creativity, passion for education, and commitment to making a difference.
It was a meaningful opportunity to spark curiosity, build connections, and showcase the power of learning through teaching. We’re proud of these future educators for leading with confidence and purpose! 🍎💙

🎉 Big milestones!
DECKlaration Day at Dearborn STEM Academy was a celebration of ambition and achievement. The 10th graders proudly declared their majors, taking the next step on their journey toward earning an associate degree, while our 11th graders celebrated the college credits they’ve already earned and received their jackets after reaching the incredible milestone of 24+ credits.
We’re proud of our early college students and can’t wait to see where their paths lead next! 💙🎓

The 2026-27 school year is closer than you think.
As districts and schools start to prepare for the year ahead, many are focused on the same questions:
• How do we support new and early-career teachers?
• How do we use data more effectively to drive improvement?
• How do we build stronger systems that support both educators and students?
This summer, BPE is offering professional learning opportunities designed to help educators and school leaders address those challenges before the first day of school, and ongoing support throughout the school year.
Upcoming opportunities include:
📊 Strategic Data Use Workshop (August 4–6 OR August 18–20)
🍎 BTR Summer Institute (August 10–14)
🤝 Early Career Network (beginning September 2026)

For 13 years, Dudley Promise Corps () harnessed the power of national service to support Boston students, strengthen school communities, and develop the next generation of leaders.
Since its founding in 2013, 217 corps members served in BPE schools, providing academic tutoring, mentoring, enrichment programming, family engagement, and community-based support. Embedded in schools and rooted in the Dudley/Nubian Square community, corps members helped ensure that students received the extra academic and social-emotional support needed to thrive while building authentic relationships that extended far beyond the classroom.
Dudley Promise Corps was more than a service program. It was a leadership pipeline. Alumni went on to become educators, paraprofessionals, community advocates, and changemakers committed to educational opportunity and social justice. Many continued their journeys through Boston Teacher Residency and Boston Public Schools.
As we reflect on the program’s legacy, we celebrate every corps member, school partner, student, family, and community leader who helped shape Dudley Promise Corps. Thank you for 13 years of service, partnership, growth, and joy. Your impact continues in classrooms, communities, and lives across Boston.
