πŸ¦… A strong community starts with people who Show Up.

One week from today, we will launch the Show Up for BC High Challenge in support of the Fund for BC High.

For 48 hours, every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor who believes deeply in the mission of BC High.

We look forward to coming together as alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to strengthen the BC High experience for current and future Eagles.

Mark your calendars for June 29 and get ready to Show Up for BC High!

Through the Lazarus Ministry, BC High students served as pallbearers for Mr. Charles Turner, who experienced homelessness and spent his final days in a mental health shelter. They honored his love of boxing and the humor the healthcare workers remembered him by, accompanying him on his final journey so that he would not go unseen. The ministry, carried out in partnership with St. Anthony Shrine and Frederick J. "Jed" Dolan P'22 β€” recently honored with the 2026 Pope Francis Award β€” ensures that those so often unnamed in life are named, prayed for, and remembered in death.

Today, BC High proudly celebrates Juneteenth as a moment to reflect, learn, and stand in solidarity with the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality. This day commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United Statesβ€”a powerful reminder of both our history and the work that remains. Through community gatherings, thoughtful discussions, and opportunities for education and service, we honor the rich legacy of resilience and freedom. Let us continue to walk together in hope, compassion, and unwavering commitment to a more just world.

At the 2025–26 Undergraduate Awards, we honored our students not only for their outstanding grades, but for the humility and compassion they carry with them. Academic excellence here means depth: students who internalize what they learn rather than memorize it, and who bring the same care to the people around them as they do to their work.

Every year, students in BC High's Freshman English classes read Homer's "The Odyssey." Each spring, they bring its lines to life in the annual Odyssey Declamations, reciting passages from the epic aloud. After 7 preliminary rounds of competition, the top 7 declaimers from each period advanced to the finals in Bulger Theater. Congratulations to Jack B. '29 (1st place), Jack H. '29 (2nd place), and Chet W. '29 (3rd place) on their performances!
