TeCanal has recently opened scholarship applications! First, TeCanal is offering four $500 scholarships for 2021 graduates of Mt. Hebron High School. Prior involvement in TeCanal is not required for this scholarship.

Additionally, TeCanal is offering one $1,000 scholarship for a current or former executive officer of TeCanal.

Eric Inae is a rising junior at Andrews University where he is majoring in computer science and mathematics. His hometown is Gaithersburg, MD.

Here is what Eric said about his Software Engineering Internship at TeCanal:
"I decided to intern at TeCanal for two reasons. One was to challenge myself and learn more about web development. The second reason is because I love the mission here at TeCanal, one where the goal is to teach and help others learn."

Eric is a member of Gymnics, a collegiate gymnastics team!

Meet Ana Coman, our youngest software engineering intern! Ana is a rising senior at Hammond High School in Columbia, MD. She is passionate about computer science and cybersecurity.

Here's what Ana said about interning at TeCanal:
"I’m interning at TeCanal so that I can be a part of a group of people which helps kids learn STEM. Also, I get to gain experience in working on a website and improve my coding abilities."

Ana has played piano and soccer since she was five years old, and she is interested in fashion!

Joseph Robinson is a rising senior at UMBC where he is majoring in computer science with a focus on game development. He is from Ashton, MD.

Here is what Joseph said about his software engineering internship at TeCanal:
"I figured TeCanal would greatly help in my pursuit to learn more about and expose myself to the growing technology/software industry. Making games has long been my passion and developing for TeCanal has helped me reaffirm this belief. Creating games which TeCanal then uses to help better the lives of children through STEM education has been a thoroughly great experience for me and I'm glad I could help."

Joseph loves cars and can speak Japanese!

Today, we are starting a series of posts featuring our awesome summer interns! We begin with Dylan Kelly, a TeCanal Software Engineering Intern.

Dylan is a rising junior at Towson University where he is majoring in Computer Information Systems (Systems Track). He is from Annapolis, MD. Dylan decided to intern at TeCanal because he wants to to bring STEM education to all who are interested in learning STEM-related topics. Additionally, he wants to bring positivity to the Baltimore community. A fun fact about Dylan is that he's a hobbyist filmmaker!

Executive officer applications for the 2020-2021 academic year are now open! If you are a rising sophomore, junior, or senior at a Maryland high school, please consider applying!
