Christian Bartholomew ( ), a BPYO alum and current student at the New England Conservatory ( ), is organizing a classical music fundraising concert benefiting the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter and he needs your help filling the room.
On May 23rd at 7 PM, join this student led event at the beautiful First Church Cathedral in Cambridge for an evening of chamber music performed by students from NEC and the Boston Conservatory, all volunteering their time and talent for this cause. The night closes with the soaring final movement of Mahler’s 3rd Symphony, and a local poet and activist will share an original work written for the occasion.
Stay after for a reception with free food and drinks.
The Harvard Square Homeless Shelter provides daily support to Boston’s unhoused community, helping residents find jobs, rebuild their lives, and access the essentials they need. More funding means more people finding their footing. Events like this one make that possible. The concert is free to attend. Simply showing up and sharing this post makes a real difference.

The critics have spoken!
The Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s season finale at Symphony Hall left Boston Classical Review and the Boston Musical Intelligencer searching for superlatives… and we think they found them.
“Like the patriots of Bunker Hill, the lads and lasses of the BPYO rose to the occasion with unrelenting valor, intelligence, energy, and grace.” — Boston Musical Intelligencer
“The most impressive playing of the evening… the young musicians maintained absolute clarity.” — Boston Classical Review
This is what the BPYO sounds like at Symphony Hall. And with one extraordinary season still to come, the best is still ahead.
The Final Encore to Celebrate.
