Find Out Where You're Losing Revenue To Competitors

Ranking well doesn't guarantee visibility anymore. AI answers, ads, Shopping listings, and page layout now decide what customers see before they reach your site, and competitors capture that demand every day.

Our Revenue Risk Report maps your brand's visibility across Google and AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode, then prioritizes fixes by actual revenue impact, not just ranking position.

Enterprise teams at brands like Nordstrom, L.L.Bean, and Chico's already use this to catch what they're missing.

Google's /goto Redirect Broke SERP Attribution for 6 Days 09/23/2026

When Google's Own Redirect Broke Everyone's Attribution

For six days in late August, Google routed organic results, People Also Ask links, and AI Overview citations through an internal redirect layer instead of sending users straight to the destination page. Invisible to searchers, but it broke every tool that reads destination URLs to attribute rankings, including ours.

The clearest sign: YouTube's share of voice, normally 13-15%, dropped to nearly zero during the affected window, then bounced right back once Google's fix deployed on September 2. Meanwhile, attribution to Google's own domain in AI Overviews roughly doubled, from its usual 13-16% up to 28-30%, artificially inflating Google's own numbers.

We caught it through our data validation checks and are reprocessing the affected week now. If you track share of voice and noticed anything odd between August 26 and September 2, this explains it.

A New AI Summary Just Showed Up In Google Ads

Ever noticed a new line showing up under some Google ads lately? It's called "What customers love," an AI-generated summary Google is testing inside paid search results.

We tracked it across 1.1M ad listings: just 8 appearances in August, then 1,293 in a single day by September 6. Insurance and automotive ads are seeing it the most.

Checking AI visibility shouldn't mean another dashboard login and export.

Tracking how your brand appears in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other AI answers usually means pulling reports from a dashboard. With GBD Compass MCP, you connect Compass to Claude once, then ask your questions directly.

For example:
• Which competitors gained AI visibility this week?
• Who is winning in Google AI Overviews for our category?
• Which of our tracked prompts lost citations?

The answers come from your own Compass data, so you can use them in reports and team updates right away.

What if you could simply ask your data for the insights you need?

GrowByData’s MCP Connector connects your Search, Shopping, and AI visibility data with ChatGPT, Claude, and other MCP-enabled AI platforms.

Instead of spending time navigating dashboards, exports, and spreadsheets, ask questions like:
→ Where are we losing search visibility?
→ Which competitors are gaining ground?
→ How is our brand appearing in AI results?
→ What changed across our key markets?

Get answers directly from your data and turn complex data exploration into a simple conversation.

Connect your data. Ask better questions. Get faster insights.

What's the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?

Search has changed. People now get answers from Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, often without clicking a link. That means ranking on page one is no longer the only thing to track.

Here's a simple way to think about it:
✅ SEO: Are your pages ranking and getting clicks?
✅ AEO: Is your content used as the direct answer?
✅ GEO: Do AI tools mention your brand and cite your pages?

You don't need a separate plan for each. You need one strategy and the right metrics for each layer.

Our new guide covers what each term means, the key metrics to track, and where to focus first.

Automotive Search & AI Visibility Benchmark 09/15/2026

41% Mentioned, 0.55% Cited: The Gap Every Automaker Should Be Watching

Ford appears in 41% of AI answers about cars. It's cited as a source in just 0.55% of them.

That gap says everything about automotive search right now. AI is running two separate contests, and the winners barely overlap:
➤ Publishers win the citations. Edmunds is the most-cited source in the category at 5%.
➤ Automakers win the mentions. They get named, but rarely get linked.

Most brands track only one of these. Very few track both.

We tracked both across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, and Perplexity. A few more findings from July:
➤ U.S. News leads automotive search with 3.9% share of voice
➤ AutoZone was the fastest climber, up 24.1% month over month
➤ Editorial publishers took 4 of 5 categories. Retail held only Auto Parts.

Tracking a Price and Acting on It Are Two Different Products.

Most price intelligence vendors get lumped into one category. They're not solving the same problem.

Three different things, three different tools:
→ Track competitor prices, nothing more
→ Track prices + enforce MAP violations
→ Track, decide, and automatically reprice

Buy the wrong one, and you end up paying for automation when you needed visibility, or the reverse.

We broke down 8 platforms enterprise teams actually shortlist:
→ What each one tracks
→ What it automates
→ Exactly where it stops

Ranking #1 doesn’t always mean winning the customer.

Today’s search journey spans AI Overviews, Google Shopping, Merchant Listings, and evolving SERP features - not just organic rankings.

What matters is knowing:
✦ Where your brand is actually visible
✦ Where competitors are capturing attention
✦ Which visibility gaps could impact revenue

GrowByData helps enterprise brands measure Search, Shopping, and AI visibility to uncover opportunities beyond rankings.

See where your brand truly stands. 🔗 https://bit.ly/3UCvS2R
