Celebrations on May 25th, crowned as Africa Day, recite the annual commemorations of Africa’s independence, freedom and liberation strife from colonial imperialists. The reinforcement of this liberation was the first union of African countries on African soil; the foundation of the regional integration body; the Organisation of the African Unity (OAU) on May 25, 1963, which 38 years later, evolved into the African Union (AU).
Today, the continental organisation celebrates 57 years of determined efforts for unity among the African people, and socioeconomic freedom from foreign dominion and exploitation. These are the top 10 things to know about Africa Day.

The Generation Equality campaign is bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.
Together, we want to mobilize to end gender-based violence; we are calling for economic justice and rights for all; bodily autonomy, sexual and reproductive health and rights; and feminist action for climate justice. We want technology and innovation for gender equality; and feminist leadership.

The challenge menstruating girls and women face is often less tangible than simply the availability of infrastructure, and is rooted in social norms and beliefs.

We had an exciting workshop with students of DASS college in Bonaberi, Douala (11/12/2019).

On this under the theme 'It's Time for Action', we want to challenge you to empower the women and girls in your life to care for their period.

Menstruation isn't a choice, and it shouldn't be a burden for young girls alone to carry. Our society is built on the shoulders of menstruating people. Let’s enable the opportunity to talk about a less visible experience, that of women and girls who have to manage their periods despite their situations in life.

Period — Inspiration When she heard that girls in places like Sierra Leone and Uganda were missing school because of their periods, industrial design student Roz Campbell shifted her focus from furniture to tampons and pads. Her sustainable feminine hygiene brand Tsuno became the platform for her cause.
