stories that matter

Windy Films 04/06/2023

Three years after it began, we're looking back at how the pandemic changed our process – and which changes are here to stay.

Windy Films Three years after the pandemic hit the US, we're looking back at some of the ways we completely re-imagined our approach to production. We're not talking about all the masking and testing – this is about all the ways we adapted our process for the better and still use some of those techniques toda...

We had way too much fun on this one. Thank you to everyone involved! Directed by the amazing Bilali Mack and Johan Anderson. Thank you to the team at Hasbro for trusting us to turn our studio into the Marvel Universe!

Well, this is going to be a tough one. After five incredible years, Jordan Berry is moving on from Windy. Jordan, you were our first employee at Windy. At the time we were just trying to put all the pieces together, and you turned out to be the most valuable piece in the whole puzzle. We were growing quickly – adding more square footage to the studio, more employees, and producing larger, more complicated projects than ever before. You made all that growth possible, and all of the work in Windy's portfolio is a direct result of your unstoppable hustle and unbeatable attitude. Thank you for all that you've done with us! We can't wait to see what happens next in your career. We have no doubt you will kick ass.

Photo dump from the first half of 2022. Been a great year so far, especially by working with some of the most talented people on the planet. Also, Harvey got married.

SpotOn — Windy 03/07/2022

To us, telling "stories that matter" is something that every brand can participate in, not just the social causes of the world. Check our our recent blog post to see some of our work with SpotOn, and see how they lead with not just the product they make, but the values they stand for.

SpotOn — Windy Your product or service may be something as transactional as… well for SpotOn, transactions. But that shouldn’t stop you from connecting with audiences based on what your company stands for. Consumers are seeking bold values from brands, and SpotOn showed up in a big way, not by talking loudly w...

Impact Case Study: "Future of Abortion" for Planned Parenthood — Windy 08/09/2021

Incredibly proud to see our most recent campaign directed by Ana Yamel Rodriguez Cuervo for Planned Parenthood receive over 1.5 million views on YouTube in the past two months!

Producing another cross country campaign this past spring came with its own challenges – COVID safety, patient privacy, and the urgency to defend against anti-choice laws sweeping the country. Despite all of that, hopefully these stories can inspire new audiences to engage their own family and friends in conversations around abortion.

Last night we hosted a few friends and clients who have been with us through all of COVID. From the beginning of the pandemic when we doubted if we'd ever use this studio again, to then using it more than ever because of the safety and security it provided our crews, to now seeing our community gathered on the roof was emotional to say the least. Outdoors and everyone fully vaccinated, it was great to finally be able to be together again. Thank you to this incredible community for keeping us honest over the past year and a quarter. Here's to coming out of this with a renewed sense of gratitude, focus and energy.

One Year of Remote Community — Windy Films 03/15/2021

One year ago, we said, "Let's work from home for two weeks."

Gathering in person is a significant element of who we are, not for the sake of getting our work done but for connecting with our community. Our recent blog post sheds a little light on how our colleagues and friends rallied together to help one another navigate this past year. Essentially, it's a love letter from us to you and all we do together. Give it a read!

Today, on International Women's Day, we'd like to introduce you to our first full-time Associate Creative Director, Riley McClenaghan! We're celebrating Riley and all the fantastic women we've worked with who are blazing a path for a more diverse industry. It's no secret that film and production are heavily male-dominated; we want to change that.

Riley is a multi-talented director, cinematographer, and photographer. She recently graduated from Rhode Island School of Design this past semester with a BFA in Film/Animation/Video.

In addition to welcoming Riley, we celebrate the women who make up half of our staff, and the long list of female and femme freelancers included in our Hire These People list. Visit windyfilms.com/hire-these-people for more information. (Pictured Windy staff: Jordan, Annette, Anna, and Riley.)

Happy International Women's Day!
