Congratulations to Anita Mosher (right) of of St. Johnsbury. The Standard's Susanne Dillman (left) presented her with the winning gift card, drawn from visitors to our booth at the Vermont Insurance Agents Association - VIAA annual convention. As you can see, Anita was ready to attend the next scheduled event at the convention — a 70s era murder mystery whodunnit!

The New England chapter of the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals had a good turnout for its annual summer meeting today. Commissioner Kevin Gaffney of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation and Commissioner Andrew Mais of the Connecticut Insurance Department were the guest speakers. They are pictured here with the AICP New England board.

The Insurance Library Assn of Boston held an ice cream social for area interns who are working at local carriers and agencies. They had a fun afternoon learning about the library and socializing with insurance professionals.

The Essex/Middlesex chapter of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women (MAIW) held its first "Chopped" Cook-Off to benefit its scholarship program. Participants Ruth DeSantis of Cleary Insurance, Emily Leblanc of Cross Insurance, Josephine Salamanca of Prime Insurance Services, Inc., Maria Iocco of AAA, Tara Philbin of PHILBIN INSURANCE GROUP and Lisa Marciano of Appleby & Wyman Insurance Agency worked against the clock to create a meal of a mystery basket of ingredients. It was a close call, but Tara and Lisa were declared the winners. Congratulations to all of them for being such good sports!
