Recap of Lady Tammy Murphy’s 5th annual Nurture New Jersey‘s Black Maternal and Infant Health Leadership Summit Conference
The conference heard from key champions in the Maternal & Child Health Space. And, it was an enriching experience discussing within my small group how to advance equitable practices and infrastructure for improved birthing outcomes and have our recommendations presented to our colleagues.

This week. I attended the American Public Health Association ( APHA) FOR THE FIRST TIME and to make the experience even more special, I attended as a PRESENTER.

It was so great to reconnect with old colleagues as well network with new public health professionals from all over the United States in various fields.
The APHA conference was another reminder why I love Public health and why our work as public health professionals is so important

Today, I attended The First Annual New Jersey Rural Health Conference by ’s Office of Primary Care and Rural Health

Also in attendance and virtually in attendance with acknowledgments U.S Senator booker and NJ health commissioner

As a Public health professional not directly trained in Rural Heqlth it was refreshing learning from leaders in the Rural Health Space on key areas for improvements in Rural Health

I loved that to bags of fresh fruit and vegetable from a local farmer’s market were available for us to take home.

How will you prioritize your health this spring ? Remember that Health is Mental, Social as well as physical. Make time for all 3 this season.
Some ways I’ll be prioritizing my health are by 1) working out at least 3x each week 2) Drinking more water 3) Making time for self care and rest 4) hanging out with friends and loved ones ❤️

Spring cleaning is also a time for changing out and update our wellness routines not just our winter clothes and physical space 😊
