Each of us came from different worlds, some corporate, some creative, some academic. My own journey, shaped by entrepreneurship and deeply rooted in Zimbabwe, didn’t follow the traditional route. And yet, the conversation reminded me that there is no single blueprint for brilliance.

When you build from the ground up, especially from the Global South, you bring with you a different kind of insight — one shaped by resilience, creativity, and the ability to dream beyond what exists.

Grateful to have shared space with such powerful voices and to be part of shaping new narratives for where Black excellence can go — and grow.

I was invited by the UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network to attend the launch of the new UN Tour Guide uniforms — a powerful collaboration with students from the Swedish School of Textiles. This collection, rooted in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, reimagines what it means to dress for diplomacy and the planet.

As a representative of .council, I’m proud to be part of a global movement advancing sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation in fashion. Our programs are deeply aligned with the SDG vision — from supporting emerging talent to empowering underrepresented communities and championing ethical design.

The future of fashion is conscious, collaborative, and inclusive.
