PORTRAIT out now 🎨
one of the most beautiful songs ever written, here’s ‘Serenade in Blue’
When I hear that serenade in blue
I’m somewhere in another world alone with you
Sharing all the joys we used to know
Many moons ago
Once again, your face comes back to me
Just like the theme of some forgotten melody
In the album of my memory
Serenade in blue
It seems like only yesterday
A small café, a crowded floor
Then we danced the night away
I hear you say forevermore
Then the song became a sigh
Forevermore became goodbye
But you remain in my heart
Tell me, darling, is there still a spark?
Or only lonely ashes of the flame we knew?
Should I go on whistling in the dark?
Serenade in blue
I watched as love grew cold and faded away
Like night shades that come creeping and cover the day
I wonder is there still a spark?
Or should I whistle in the dark?
Serenade in blue
My favorite versions are recorded by Billy Eckstine, Teri Thornton, and Gloria Lynne 🌸

Mais la belle vie
Sans amour, Sans soucis
Sans problème.
Oui la belle vie
On s’enlace, On est triste
Et l’on traîne.
Alors pense que je t’aime
Et quand tu auras compris
Réveille-toi
Je serai là
Pour toi
“La Belle Vie” aka the Good Life written and sung by French vocalist Sacha Distel with lyrics by Jean Brousolle. Shirley Horn has an insanely beautiful recording on an album with her name and “…With Horns.”
I tried to find a good English translation but, for all of my French speaking folks out there, how would you summarize the meaning of this song in the comments? 👨🏽🎨🤍🥂🥖

So thankful for all of you & the support of this project, nearly three years in the making 🥹
The goal of this project was to rely on the strength of the musicianship and creativity of like-minded peers of mine, allowing everyone to contribute equally to the sound of the group through their inventive arrangements & musical vision. We ended up cultivating a sound that was unique and different, an environment where true chemistry and trust were built. Performing on so many stages together, constantly writing new material, we grew so much in such a short time and I’m incredibly proud of my bandmates for their dedication to this album and to this music.
Thankful for *trecording and Maureen and Don Sickler of the process was a long one but I’m so grateful for your commitment to the sound of this project from start to finish!
Thank you to the audiences all around the world for embracing the music. This album almost went unreleased because it wasn’t seen as the right next step but sharing this music with you all and seeing it resonate gave me the confidence to believe in myself & press forward.
Special shout and thanks to and to all of the journalists all over the world for your time and for spreading the word & sharing so many thoughtful pieces about the album!!!
Thank you .avant for painting this album cover so beautifully and agreeing to do so in only a week’s time, there will be more of a heads up next time! Special thanks to for your consistently extraordinary art, I’m in awe every time I look at a piece of yours!! Thank you to for documenting the process, so much more to come!! And thanks to for the album design and for being patient with my picky ways!
major shout out to glam!!
