Which one’s your favorite? I’m working on some design iterations to explore style, texture, and mood. The first one is the original and I wanted to test some things out on one of our clients projects.
Fast in a reel.
Fastidious in real life.

Most people think drawings tell the whole story.
They don’t.
Plans show dimensions.
Elevations show quantities.
Specs list materials.
But none of that lets a client feel the space.
That’s why we render.
So you can see the ceiling slope catching light.
So you understand how the wood wraps the tub.
So you feel how quiet the room will be.
Our job isn’t just to draw it.
It’s to help you see inside the drawing — and inside our head — before we build it.
Because when you can see it clearly, you can commit to it confidently.
Primary Bath Concept Study.
Early in my career, I could design the hell out of a house. Big glass. Clean lines. Warm materials. The whole Pinterest-meets-ArchDaily dream.
Then came the budget.
And when I wasn’t the contractor? That’s where things really unraveled. Value engineering turned into value disappearing. Details got “simplified.” Materials got swapped. Proportions shifted just enough to lose the magic.
The drawings were beautiful.
The result… was fine.
I learned the hard way that design without control of ex*****on is just a suggestion. And budgets don’t care about your renderings.
That gap between vision and reality? That’s where experience is earned.
Now I design differently. I price differently. I build differently.
Because beautiful only works if it survives construction.

Excited to share a big step forward for our team.
Please join me in welcoming David Pallian David Pallian as our new Senior Project Manager.
David brings decades of experience in high‑end residential construction across Greater Boston – from complex gut renovations and additions to custom homes in towns like Concord, Carlisle, Lincoln, Weston, and Brookline. He’s worked closely with top local architects and clients on some very challenging, architect‑driven projects, and has a track record of:
Running jobs from pre‑construction through CO and warranty
Protecting budget and schedule while maintaining craftsmanship
Coordinating architects, engineers, subs, and homeowners in a collaborative way.
David will be leading the construction side of our architect‑led design‑build projects – gut renovations, additions, and custom builds in older New England homes – so I can stay focused on design and the overall vision while he owns day‑to‑day ex*****on in the field.
I’m excited about what we’ll be able to deliver for our clients with David on board.
If you know David, feel free to say hello in the comments and help us welcome him to the team.

I don't know if Deadpool is trolling our work or supports our crazy ambition, but since his normal uniform matches our company's red logo, we'll take all the shame or glory he wants to send our way.
