For the initiated, here’s the background/overview on all the tracks from the new album:

DriftWood – Lead single & first ‘electric’ track I wrote for this album, which was originally going to be all acoustic but ended up being half & half. Freemason & religious themes abound on this one & the cover art for the single is T-shirt worthy.

Inherit the Wind – Acoustic track written in a weird-ass tuning (Open Dsus2) with Middle Eastern percussion & a bridge sung in Latin. (also a true story)

Disguise the Limit – Hard rock banger killing it right now with over 50,000 streams in the 5 weeks it’s been out. If there was still a WAAF this would've been a great fit for it. (although they would only play it on Sundays at 1AM)

Shamed & Acclaimed – Mid tempo acoustic track with a ‘Tropical’ bridge that contains steel drums, tambourine, slide guitar & multiple use of the word “Prosopagnosia”. You won’t get that from Dokken.

Antecedent+Consequence – Probably the most complex song on the album with odd time signatures, a progressive structure & lyrics tackling cognitive behavior. The spoken word bridge lyrics are some of the best I’ve written.

Buy Myself – Acoustic track a guitar solo from the guitar player of my very 1st band from high school, the mighty Chris Redinger (aka “Crevai”).

Transcension – Ethereal track with lots of experimentation & some weird counter melodies & harmony vocals. Took the longest to write.

Cattle Song – This ‘Western’ (for lack of a better term) song features a Jaw Harp that was only available in the right key from Hungary. It took 3 months to get here & about 45 seconds for me to track the part. (this one also features Cattle Moos & harmonica)

The Deluge – Retro Sabbath vibe on this one. The rotten candy canes on the album cover as well as the album title are pulled from this song. The lyric “It may be the time now to defenestrate” comes from an actual term that means ‘to throw someone or something out a window’. Spring's here, open up those windows!

Shortest Season – This somber, melancholy album closer has a sparse arrangement of just acoustic guitar, vocal & a lawn mower. (also a true story)
