House hacking at its finest:
Buy a multifamily to live in and rent out. One of the obvious benefits is that the other two units will help pay for most or all of your mortgage.

Another benefit is that buying a multifamily instead of buying a single family residence will help you build equity even faster and with other people’s money (your tenants in the other units)😉

So lovies, please understand that most investment property lenders want at least 20% down. Meanwhile, you can get a conventional primary residence mortgage with as little as 3% or qualify for FHA financing with 3.5% down. Of course if you’re a veteran or active duty military you may be able to get a 0% down VA mortgage.

Bottom line buy the multifamily property first. Stack up and then get your dream house. ✨
