What a feeling to say that out loud.

I feel so incredibly lucky every. single. day. to do this work and to be surrounded by the kind of community that has embraced HER with so much openness and trust. The planners, the couples, the collaborators… the relationships built over these past two years are something I don’t take for granted for a second.

From our very first tables to multiple features in , there have been so many moments that feel surreal in the best way — the kind you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

In an industry where I often find myself as the only Asian in the room, I dreamed of what it could feel like to create with people who just got it. Who understood the layers—cultural, emotional, historical—that come with showing up in creative spaces as people of color, as Asian Americans.

This shoot began as a quiet idea: what if we celebrated AAPI Heritage Month by bringing together Asian creatives in the wedding industry. From LA to NY to Boston. Planners, photographers, makeup artists, florists, stationers, bakers, designers. Talented. Tender. Unapologetically themselves.

Together, we created something rooted in culture, memory, and meaning. Every detail told a story—bamboo flatware honoring quiet resilience; bitter melon and long green beans once hidden from our white American friends, now proudly displayed; handpainted umbrellas on linen speaking to fragility and care in love and partnership.

It was more than a styled shoot. It was a reclamation. A reminder that we don’t have to fit into existing molds—we can build new ones. And we can do it together.

To the incredible team who said yes—not for exposure, but for community: thank you. This was for us.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year (and two days) since I launched Honest Event Rentals (HER)—time really does fly. In the whirlwind of running a business, I almost forgot to pause and reflect, hence this belated post. But boy looking back, what a journey it has been.

If there’s one thing I’m most proud of, it’s trusting my inner voice—the one that told me to take the leap, to build something meaningful, to listen to HER. That voice led me here, to a year filled with creativity, growth, and moments I’ll never forget.

One of my favorite memories is from the very beginning when hosted at , marking one of our first big milestones. Fast forward a year, and we’re featured in —a full-circle moment that reminds me just how far we’ve come.

I feel incredibly lucky to have a seat at the table with some of the most talented event planners in New England—if not the U.S.—who have embraced HER in their beautiful celebrations. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
