POV: it’s Jan 20, 2006 and you’re on your parents couch awaiting what will be the ultimate Disney Channel movie.
Little did we know Troy Bolton’s struggles were paralleling our own.
Our struggles of doing what we were always praised for and having a very difficult time learning what we actually wanted and liked.
When you grow up being celebrated for a skill or talent or achievement, you tend to associate your self worth and love with that particular talent or skill.
You keep achieving because the praise is what feels good for you.
The thing is, as you grow, you start to wonder if what you’re doing, how you’re acting, is what YOU want, or if it’s what you’ve been conditioned to want.
It’s possible to shed the fear that comes with losing the external validation you’ve been so used to.
Because the alternative is much scarier: living a life that’s not your own.
Choosing to live your one wild and precious life is your responsibility and yours alone.
And as millennial, we’re learning this together.
Share with someone who’s breaking free from the role society has placed on them and reclaiming their life.
Oh, and, did you have a high school musical 2 watch party, too? Let me know in the comments 🏀🎵🎤

This is hard for me to admit.
Over the last several months I had a realization.
Many people I work with have positive changes.
But months later when I check on them, they return to what they were doing before working together.
What this told me was, these strategies helped, but only for a brief period of time.
This forced me to realize that when people come to me saying they want a change, it has to happen at their foundation.
To make the changes you need it means we must go deeper. We must address what leads you to stay in these patterns.
Because it is a great disservice to you if I don’t help you recognize and change them.
The relief, self trust, and belief in yourself that you’re looking for?
It can only come when we look at the old and scary patterns and ideas you hold about yourself.
Every action we take or don’t take comes from a belief.
Without noticing them and working to change them, your actions will stay the same.
Consider this:
You say you’re going to workout first thing when you get up.
What happens is: you sleep through your alarm, rush through your morning and have no time to workout.
Or:
You know going for a walk at the end of the day helps you unwind.
Instead when you close your laptop you sit on the couch and scroll through social media or binge Netflix.
And also:
Your goal is to sleep for 8 hours a night.
But you sleep with your phone next to your bed and end up on Tiktok until it’s midnight.
Your intentions can be good, but your actions will always prove otherwise.
Unless you address your patterns.
Hear me when I say this:
You deserve the changes you want to make. You deserve the life you want to live and the way you want it to feel.
That requires looking at and seeing where your barriers have been.
The way to get through this is with support.
I’m in your corner and cheer for you.
If this resonates with you, and you’re ready to shift the foundation of your life, DM me “barriers” to get started.

❌This is the worst lesson you’ve ever learned❌
You’ve been taught to believe that the more discipline you have, the more you’ll achieve your goals.
The more discipline you have to wake up at 5:30 AM and hit the gym before work will make you more likely to get fit, right?
The more discipline you have to not eat an ice cream sundae every night before bed, the more weight you’ll lose, right?
When you don’t have discipline, you’ll probably never go to the gym or eat well or get to bed on time, right?
Wrong.
This is a version of discipline that has been toxic for you.
This version has you bullying yourself, ignoring your red flags, and shaming yourself into doing that thing you think you should be doing.
It has you beating yourself up, talking down to yourself, and perceiving yourself as worthless when you inevitably DON’T get up at 5:30 AM for the gym, or you snooze your alarm one too many times.
This is the version of discipline that you’ve been taught if you’re a millennial.
That if you’re not reaching your goal, you’re not disciplined enough.
And worse, you’re lazy.
What you’ve learned is not only incorrect, but it’s damaging.
Discipline is a culmination of actions that align with what you value.
It’s your ability to be aware of what matters to you and how well your environment and daily actions align with those things.
It is not a way to hustle more and grind harder to go faster and further.
When you start relearn what discipline means, you’ll start your healing.
Share with a friend who needed to hear that discipline does not mean shaming themselves.

The irony of being too busy to take care of yourself is you can’t actually take care of anyone else either.
You can still care for others when you care for yourself.
You have more to give when you do.

You are valuable even when you have dirty dishes still in the sink cause your dishwasher is full of clean ones.

🚨What You Need if You Have No Time To Exercise🚨
Being able to have patience instead of frustration when you interact with your partner is why you’re here.
Having a burst of energy at the end of your busy work day to spend time with your favorite people is why you’re here.
Waking up and your first thought being “today is going to be a good day” instead of “I can’t” is why you’re here.
When you have no time to exercise, you sacrifice why you’re here.
What you need to do is start with a workout you can do in a short amount of time that feels good and is doable.
Doable makes it sustainable.
Sustainable means consistency.
Consistency means a better mood at the end of a work day to protect someone you loves feelings, a bit more energy to spend time with your closest friends, and an excitement when you wake up in the morning because you actually get sleep.
Exercise to enjoy life’s moments.
Cause those are the reason you’re here.
