Come learn about the Defend the Atlanta Forest movement and to remember activist Tortuguita who was murdered by police in the Weelaunee forest. Merch made by local artists will be sold and the money will be donated to the folks on the ground. The destruction of our environment and the violence of the police is not just an Atlanta issue, but a local one as well. Come learn about the DTAF movement, write letters to activists in jail, and remember Tortuguita.

BOO! Are you interested in learning about the power dynamics here on campus? 🎃
It’s spookier than you think. JOIN US ON SANFORD TO HEAR ABOUT THE REALITY OF WHO MAKES OUR DECISIONS. Let’s demask the Board of Trustees scooby-doo style. They tell us to vote or to put our concerns through the systems they’ve given us, but does that really mean we have a say in how our campus is run? What are their motives? Who are they?
We will be there on Monday from 12pm-2pm. Tuesday TBD. We’ll be stacked with info and ~candy~ if you dare play trick-or-trustees. 👻

How would you want your tuition money spent by the leaders of Appalachian State? How have you felt lied to by this university?🧐 Drop a comment below and share your opinion + experience ⬇️.
This past Wednesday, we wanted to ask folks these questions & platform voices that ASU is intentionally silencing. A huge thank you to all those who stopped by our demonstration and joined us for our march on to the administration building. Students, faculty, alumni, and tourists were surprised at the reality of ASUs actions.
We then marched to and chanted inside the building until we were told to leave. Although it was only for a short moment, we disrupted business as usual. We will continue to pursue as many of these moments as we can, and we need your help. We will continue to demand climate justice until this university puts its money where the needs of the on & off campus communities are!📣💥
General meetings Monday at 5pm in 3rd Place.
Up-close faces blurred to respect privacy!

Last year on Earth Day, we hosted an event called “Party For Our Planet” on Sanford Mall at ASU, and while it was a success, we figured we’d do it again this year!
Next Friday, stop by from between 6PM & midnight for live music, great vendors, and have, as they say, a “Real Cool Time” with us as we look to get some funds to some local folks doing amazing work! And if you are unable to attend, be sure to keep posted for more events like this in the future!
Also, bring your favorite blank piece of clothing as we will hopefully be able to spray the logo of the Collaborative onto whatever you got!
Mark your calendars and we’ll see y’all there!
Please also note: Lilys is 21+ past 9PM, we absolutely of course value folks who are under the age, but this venue was chosen as it is the safest space we know of in town for folks!

Petition to Withdraw or Reject New River Light & Power’s Proposal for a Punitive New Fee on Solar Customers in the Town of Boone We were disappointed to learn last week that New River Light and Power is seeking to tack on a $99 annual administrative fee for solar customers in the town of Boone.
