Join us for the first Sunday dance, APRIL 5TH, for a live dance experience with local Boone musicians.
This will be one special gathering with some amazing music and a chance to interact with musicians as a dancer on a really special, intentional level. Make sure to tell your friends and come dance with us!! 🌀🕯️

To support the musicians, this event is ticketed on a sliding scale starting at $15.

spring equinox is a time of perfect balance, a period of new growth. as the flowers bloom I am reminded to embrace love and every emotion it brings forth with openness. Throughout weaving this set I have been holding my desire to grow deeper in my connection to self and to those I love dearly. Love is a crazy thing. At times it can be so easy and other times it can feel like hard work. Sometimes it’s clear and sometimes it’s confusing. This set is a reminder that love cannot blossom without fertile soil. We create this fertile soil when we can embrace those emotions that aren’t so easy or clear. When we can sit with the discomfort and dance with the shadows we can have all that we need to grow!
May we dance into spring with ease and balance in our hearts💗🌱🌸

I wove this set with inspiration from the Fire Horse energy that we’ve stepped into. This energy feels wild-hearted, magnetic, creative, and fiercely independent. It’s the kind of energy that refuses to be contained. It moves how it wants, burns bright, and doesn’t ask permission.

This feels like the time more than ever for courage, momentum, bold expression, and a little beautiful rebellion. The Horse brings freedom, instinct, and forward movement.

Let’s trust our impulses, speak our truth, and run toward what feels alive. Let’s be fierce. Bold. living in your unapologetic YOUness.

Howdy dancers! Here’s a compiled list of the dance dates we have planned for the first half of the year!

Location for dances are at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boone. if we move to outdoor dances in the summer, the location will be posted with the dance announcement info. Love you all and feeling blessed to be able to dance through the year in community 💟

Cocooned, February 1st at 6pm

Location: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boone (381 E King st)

One of my favorite things about ecstatic dance is the invitation it offers to disconnect from the outside world and cocoon into my own body as well as the intimate, deeply familiar and safe space ecstatic dance creates for me. This set is inspired by that feeling and invitation to tune into self and out of our everyday life.

Blindfold dancing is highly encouraged this dance! I will have some scarfs and cloths by the altar for anyone to use if they’re wanting to dance with a blindfold and didn’t bring one!

There will also be tea so if you have a special drinking vessel you would like to bring, please do! i will have some mugs (but not a lot) for people to use.

Moonarms
there is twisting,
unraveling,
change that cannot be stopped.

and still,
the moon will find me.
wherever I am.

Tonight she is a crescent,
open arms.
She wraps herself gently
around what’s left of me.
She hums me quiet
with cradling arms.

In her light,

This Thursday ~ A Dance for Winter Solstice! ❄️🧦🫖☕️🕯️

This music and dance will be a space to hold us as we move deeper into the darkness of the season. A ritual of community, movement, stillness, moving inward, and honoring the shadows...
It has been a long time since I have created a set, and it has been so beautiful to weave this one ~

Y’all, some days you just gotta dance. Sometimes life just be life-ing, and stuff just cannot be all orderly and tidy like you might like it to be. For some of us the holidays, for others of us wintertime—or both—bring up those feelings of life not quite as grounded or comfortable. For all of us, there are seasons of life where things are just kind of haywire and it’s all we can do to just do the next thing.
This set celebrates that just-gotta-let-loose-and-have-some-fun-and-heck-if-it-ain’t-perfect energy. Let’s come together in the midst of life life-ing to Barefoot Boogie y’all! (Our lives have been life-ing, we hope you enjoy what we’ve been able to play with and create in the midst)

~ Shadow Dance ~
Shivonne and I have been brewing a spooky set in the spirit of the season. The set is an offering to our shadows. A calling to the darkest parts of ourselves; honoring the chaos, fear, and eventual joy that unfolds when we lean into what’s hidden within.

The set begins eerie and unsettled where it’ll descend to distorted chaos. the set eventually emerges into lightness, relief, and love for ourself and our community.
