Happy Earth Day from Boone City Parks!
On Saturday April 9th we will be erecting a new flagpole in MchOse Park! This pole will replace the pole that was just inside the McHose Park main gate. This new pole will be 80' tall! Thanks to BCP Foundation, and Boone Veterans groups for donating money. Rick Campbell and Crane Rental and Rigging are donating services and equipment! Thanks to all.
We will start spring cleanup in Linwood Park Cemetery, April 1. If you have wreaths, flower pots etc. in the cemetery please remove before we start cleanup.
We have had to close of a couple of areas in McHose due to muddy conditions. Those area have been abused by vehicles, if you see such activities occuring write down a license number and let us or police know. Thanks for your help in your park system.
A beautiful day in McHose Park!! The park is being used by a lot of people today. Please watch for kids and the back roads are very muddy. Enjoy your park system this week!
VOLUNTEERS!.......... RAGBRAI will be staying in McHose Park and other areas in the city. We will be needing volunteers to help with various duties on and around July 26. We are forming committees now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, let's show the world what a great community we are! RAGBRAI will be bringing approx. 20,000 to 25,000 people ...

Picnic perfect weather.....in February!
Park roads now open, so come out for that no school day picnic! ;) Pool is closed today though.
BCP thanks Blake Myers! Blake is a volunteer at the Herman Park Skating pond. This evening he went to the pond, upon his arrival he noticed vandals had turned on the outside faucet. Water was running down the bank onto the pond. He turned it off! Saving hundreds of gallons of water! If you know Blake thank him for us.
