Openings on Nov. 13th, 14th, and 15th.
Select openings on the 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd… openings on Sunday, December 1st, and select openings Friday, December 6th - Monday, December 9th. I also have a few openings left closer to Christmas.

Reminiscing on the past and what a lot has happened. At the end of this month, the beginning of November, Salon 908 will be open for 20 years 2004-2024!!! It started as a vision from April Valentine. She came up from Missouri to a town with a lot of salons and look, 20 years later. She opened and Nikki Kathman worked at first then Nikki left. I joined in July 2005 just in time for April to have her son. That is when they decided to move back to Missouri to raise him by family. I bought it from her in November. It ended up taking a while to sell their house so she continued work for 2 more years. In Nov of 2005 Emily Johnson-Chapman joined the crew. Opened end of

I want to thank April for starting something that changed my life forever. The families that grew and ran around the salon over the years. My kids were 3, 5 and 8 when I started and now 22, 24 and 27 and 2 grandkids later 4 and 2.

20 years... Who would have thunk it!! I have met some amazing clients who are so much more than that. They are family!!! I have seen clients grow up, families grow/have babies, graduate, marry, pass away, been through sicknesses and ups and downs and so much more. To say I have been blessed is an understatement.
Thank you to all my clients who helped me make Salon 908 a success. It means the world to me!

Just wanted to share with you that I’ve opened up my schedule this weekend to allow more appointments! Call or text 515-954-4314 to book (or with questions) for August 8, 9, 10th or 11th. ✂️🩷

August is a busy month with teachers and students headed back to school, catching up with friends at the Iowa State Fair, family reunions, photo sessions, and lots more! Let’s get your hair ready for it all!

I have availability for cuts, color and highlights, professional conditioning/shine treatments, facial waxing and hair tinsel. I’m also running a new client special of $20 OFF a cut and color for August and September!

Kelly has officially checked out!! I will not be returning to the salon until Wed April 17th. I will not be answering any calls or responding to any messages. Feel free to call the salon and leave a message and I'll return it when I get back. Thank you for letting me have a much needed vacation.

My name is Monica Jennings and I have recently joined Kelly in doing hair at Salon 908.
I have done hair for about 20 years. I recently took a break from it while I went back to school and got my graphic design degree. Now, I work part time doing hair and part time doing other art and design projects. I grew up around here and am very excited to be back in the area, close to my family and doing hair again. It truly has been my life's work, and I am very passionate about creating looks that all my clients love!
I do highlighting, coloring, haircuts, facial waxing, special occasion work, and professional hair conditioning treatments. I am excited to be taking new clients right now!
Currently, I am working on Mondays and Thursdays, by appointment only. I try hard to work with your schedule so other days and times can be an option if needed. If you do need a time outside of my schedule, just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

So I have to continue with my family doing nothing "Normal"!! I had my left leg vein glued shut in Feb this year and it never went down all the way. It was going well but over the Summer my leg swelled a little more and more over and so on. Well, I went in today for another ultrasound, and the doctor walks in later and was shocked. The glue was no longer there and functioning!! She had not seen that before. This means I will be getting that leg stripped. It will be more intense as it is close to groin so I will actually have to go to the hospital and get put under and it will be a bigger procedure. She is able to get me in before Christmas which is amazing this close to the end of the year. I unfortunately will have to take some more time off then I did before. I have reached out already to a lot but waiting to hear back from some. It means I can't jam pack the next week after because I will need to have moments to sit and take breaks. Bad timing right before Christmas but I need to get it taken care of. My procedure is Mon Dec 11th so please bare with me and be patient as I need to not overdo it. I am the only one working so I will be gone for a bit! I have the best clients and I appreciate every single one of you!!!!

I will be out of the salon this week Sept 25-30th for family medical and then Sun Mon are my regular days off. I will return on Tues Oct 3rd. Please call the salon at 515-432-1019 and leave a message. I will not be returning calls or any messages while I am gone. Thank you!!!!

Reminder of parking...If you have an appointment with me today I am open and I am here. Parking is worse than normal because instead of going around the barricade to get to the salon, Story Street is closed off so it's a long walk. Just be prepared.
