Sometimes you just need a break from studio for a few minutes, and you realize how lucky you are to work/study in the mountains, with a small hiking trail that is thirty feet from your building and puts you in a rhododendron forest in a few minutes. This group has been working SO hard. They needed some restoration! Happy Earth Day from App State Interior Design!

Submissions are now open for the AZ Awards 2026, an international design awards program presented by AZURE Magazine. This is a unique opportunity for students to showcase their work on a global stage, with 31 categories alongside emerging and established designers.

The AZ Awards offer discounted student entry fees and a $5000 cash prize for the A+ winning student submission, making it an accessible way to gain recognition early in your career.

Final submission deadline: February 13, 2026

Dear students and program supporters,

Our new Chairperson, Sheryl Oring, has created an exhibition event named Mountain Made for the three programs in our department. We would love if you could attend the opening reception, next Thursday, January 22nd, from 5-7PM in Katherine Harper Hall. It will begin in the main lobby and interior design will be featured in studio 49 and 181. Come see the work displayed.
