The pastors before them were tortured, the church buildings were burned, and the congregations were scattered...

But across Sudan and South Sudan, the next generation is still being raised to love Jesus!

In the early 2000's Samaritan's Purse helped rebuild over 500 churches, and today they are filled with worship like this!

Our Ebola Treatment Center is now open and receiving patients!

After extensive construction and thorough training, a combined force of Samaritan's Purse staff and local medical professionals are now treating patients in Bunia, DRC who are suffering from the deadly virus.

As this treatment center fills up, please pray that even in the face of fear and sickness they become places marked by healing and hope through Jesus Christ.

Please also keep the patients, staff, and local communities in your prayers.

Why would someone willingly come face to face with Ebola?

Ngabu's "why" for serving shows us Christ's heart for the suffering and isolated.

Ngabu is a local nurse finishing Ebola response training in the DRC.

He's lost many neighbors to the virus, but despite this he serves with compassion, bravery, and excellence out of love for Christ and his community.

🙏 Please pray for Ngabu and his fellow medical workers as they prepare to treat patients in need.

These once heavily persecuted churches are rebuilt and thriving!

Over the past 2 decades Samaritan's Purse has come alongside over 500 congregations that endured violent opposition for their faith in Jesus Christ.

We're so thankful to share this short glimpse of what their churches look like today, and ask you to pray for them as they raise the next generation of believers.

Samaritan's Purse is grateful for the opportunity to gift cars to these families in partnership with Hendrick Motors. We pray these cars will bless these families for years to come and that they will remind them of how much Jesus loves them!

This choir practice left us in awe of God's restorative power.

The lyrics say, "There is no one like Him. The grace of God is enough. We live because the Almighty is our protector. There is no one like Him.”

Powerful words from a church who once lost many congregants to a violent attack.

Through grief and persecution, the church remained focused on the promise of eternal life in Christ that can never be overcome by darkness.

Pastor James Loruba led Africa Inland Church during the massacre and worked with Samaritan's Purse to construct the building they still worship in today.
