So good it doesn’t need a caption. 📸
There are some people who are just meant to be teachers. Hannah Brackett is one of them.
Hannah’s journey has come full circle: attending Hudson Elementary, studying Elementary Education at App State Hickory, teaching a new generation of Hornets and becoming a member of the Appalachian State University Alumni Association as a graduate of the Class of 2026.
Hannah demonstrates what it means to be a Mountaineer and how future educators thrive at App State as they journey from student to teacher.

sustain Appalachian brings the trash fairies, Boonerang brings the fun and the tunes... and you just bring yourself!
Hope to see you there, Mountaineers! 🗓️ June 19-21.
Our beloved "Trash Fairies" 🧚♂️ will be fluttering around the festival again this year - part of the Appalachian State Zero Waste Crew ()
♻ Last year, after a hand sort at Jimmy Smith Park, this crew diverted 980 lbs. of recycling and 740 lbs. of compost from the waste stream.
Be on the lookout for recycling/trash stations throughout the festival grounds and be sure to thanks the Trash Fairy crew for the commitment to helping make Boonerang a zero waste festival! 💚

Meet Masa and Seleen Al Horani, sisters in the College of Arts and Sciences who shared a similar Mountaineer Experience and still carved their own unique paths through App State and toward their futures.
Both Masa and Seleen graduated in May, each earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry with a certified chemist concentration. They were departmental honors students, best poster award winners at the 2025 American Chemical Society meeting, served as student leaders within the American Chemical Society, and worked alongside their mentor, Dr. Petia Bobadova, to co-author impactful journal articles on their research into dyes with applications ranging from biomedical imaging to solar cells.
With a foundational understanding of research practices and real-world applications, Masa is headed to graduate school to pursue further studies in chemistry, with interests in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and polymer research, while Seleen is trending toward clinical applications of chemistry and is evaluating her options upon graduating.
Congratulations to you both! We can't wait to follow along with your continued successes.
