Our office is home to hosts a gallery, classes, resources, and community groups.

Our work stretches beyond those four walls as we seek to help the arts thrive in the HC. We administer NC Arts Council grant funds for individual artist projects and arts programming through local nonprofits. We provide structure and support for arts initiatives. 🎨 Celebrate Parade Day in Downtown Boone with local art!

Join us at FARM Cafe on July 4th from 10 AM-3 PM for a special Art Market featuring talented artists from across the High Country. Browse and shop original artwork, handmade goods, and creative pieces in a variety of mediums while enjoying all the excitement of Parade Day!

THIS FRIDAY! Join us for the first-ever Mural Rodeo presented by Boonerang Music & Arts Festival and the Watauga Arts Council!

From 12-5 p.m. around the North Depot St parking lot, artists will be working on murals live during the festival. The pieces made during this event will be hung throughout the community in the near future!

Artists may move throughout the festival as performances kick off in the evening. Stop by to see the artists in action!

He have an exciting event for our 5th Year Anniversary of Boonerang!

A Mural Rodeo!

Come watch 5 artists painting mini-murals live on Friday from noon - 5pm in the North Depot Parking Lot! Artists may even continue painting live at the stages or at Silent Disco!

Boonerang supports so many parts of our creative sector through the music and art vending, grants for art teachers, and support for WAC, so we are exciting to bring our public art initiative into the mix!

We have some exciting locations where these murals might appear!

Boone, mark your calendars because...BUSKERS FEST IS BACK!
Join us on Saturday, September 12 from 1-5 pm in the heart of Downtown Boone

Buskers Fest is a one-day celebration of all things creative! Musicians, artists, dancers, performers, and more will take to the sidewalks of Downtown Bone, transforming our streets into a vibrant, open-air stage. Expect community art projects, live demos, lots of music, and aerial performances, and more! Come out and support local artists right here in your community.

Registration for Buskers Fest is still open and will close on June 30th. If you are a creative interested in joining, click the link in our bio or visit our website before its too late!

Join us TONIGHT from 5-7pm for a free, open-to-all gallery reception at Appalachian Theatre, celebrating our current exhibit, The Art of Jazz.

Enjoy live music from Todd Wright, a cash bar, light refreshments, the chance to meet exhibiting artists, view and purchase artwork, and be there for the announcement of our Best in Show award!

Bring your friends and family and come ring in the High Country Jazz Festival season with us at App Theatre. We can't wait to see you there!

Mark your calendars!

WAC is excited for our upcoming reception for The Art of Jazz exhibit, held at App Theatre THIS Thursday, June 11th, from 5-7 p.m.

The Art of Jazz has been on exhibit at WAC for the past month, but will be temporarily moved for the reception on the 11th. Pieces will remain at App Theatre over the weekend before being returned to WAC for the remainder of their exhibit.

Absolutely all are welcome to join us! This event is completely free and a great chance to meet the artists, view and purchase artwork, and enjoy some light refreshments. Plus, stay for the Best in Show award announcement and live jazz music!
