🪂🐻 Freddie Goes Skydiving!

Freddie joined Library Admin Team members LouAnn Compagnone and Derena Bradley for a high-flying adventure with in Salisbury, North Carolina!

While LouAnn and Derena took the leap from 12,500 feet in the air 😱✨, Freddie had to cheer from the ground. Turns out he didn’t quite meet the height requirement... yet. 🐻😂

Where will Freddie turn up next? 👀🌎

Follow along all summer as Freddie travels with Library Personnel, discovers new places, and finds adventure far beyond the library stacks. You won’t want to miss the next stop!

From mountain views to new destinations, Freddie is tagging along with Library Personnel as they travel, explore, and discover new places. Learning doesn’t stop when classes end—it just finds a new view. 🌎✨
On Fridays, follow Freddie’s summer journey for travel highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and plenty of tiny bear-sized adventures along the way!

Join us for a drop-in poster session with Studio Archibene, the architects leading the Belk Library Master Plan project.

⏰ 1–3 p.m.
📍 Belk Library Lower Level, Room 024

Explore proposed floor plan concepts and 3D renderings for all five floors of Belk Library. Each floor will feature two design options (A & B), and attendees are encouraged to share feedback, ask questions, and discuss ideas with the project team.

This is an informal, open-house style session — stop by anytime during the event!
💡 The proposed concepts are informed by:
• Library use data
• Student and faculty surveys/focus groups
• Campus listening sessions
• Library staff workshops
• Campus master plan analysis
• Industry best practices

Your feedback will help guide the final recommendations and phased implementation plans coming later this summer.

Today, Appalachian State University is closed in recognition of Memorial Day and the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedoms.

The university remembers and honors the students, faculty, staff and alumni who gave their lives while in service to our country. The names of the fallen are inscribed on a memorial plaque next to the B.B. Dougherty Administration Building in the heart of the Boone campus.
