AppState Music Library

Last weekend, the Music Library's very own Shane Watson traveled to Charleston, SC to compete and perform in the Dan R. MacDonald Memorial Prize for Scottish Fiddle. Participation in this competition is by invitation only and is hosted by the Robert Burns Society of Charleston.

Yesterday, we hosted a pop-up event for National Library Week centered around the Joy of Gardening. Students got to decorate a flower pot and select seeds for planting. April 19th - 25th is National Library Week, and the Music Library is celebrating by hosting a Fairy Pot Decorating event! Stop by the Broyhill Courtyard from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21st. Fairy pots, decorating supplies, dirt, & seeds will be available.

We are excited to announce that the Music Library has tickets available for the AppState Theatre and Dance production of Once Upon a Mattress! Students can "check out " up to two (2) tickets with their student ID at the Music Library for either the Thursday or Friday shows.

Any tickets not claimed by 5:00 pm the day of the show will be taken to the Valborg Box Office.

Last week, the Global Music class got the chance to put their ethnomusicology detective skills to work by examining instruments from the Spencer Instrument Collection.

This collection belongs to the Hayes School of Music and is housed in partnership with the Nicholas Erneston Music Library.
