1 Day Left. Today we said our last farewell to Jane Trivette. She has been with Goober Peas since Day 1. Before that she and her late husband Allen started 194 Tire and Grocery in this location back in 1969 with $300 and many a prayer and hard work. Even on her last day Jane was sweeping and helping me clean up as vendors were removing drink coolers and visitors and shoppers stopped by for deals and one last hug with Mrs. Jane. We wish our faithful coworker, adopted mother, grandmother and friend all the best as she begins her new work endeavour at Appalachian State University next month Thank you for everything Jane!.

Due to staffing shortages, Thanksgiving and limited inventory on hand here are our hours of operation for this week. Tuesday and Wednesday open 11am to 6pm. Closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. Thank you to our part time employee Nicole who has been with us for 1 year. Today is her last working shift at GP. She has been a real godsend for us with her friendly, upbeat demeanor and always doing whatever needs to be done, many times without being told to. Nicole will graduate from ASU next month and is seeking to begin her career in her studied field of sustainable technology. Our family and community wish her all the best and appreciate all she's done for the store and our community including her volunteer efforts with Samaritans Purse in the aftermath of Helene.
