The Best of the Best!!

The AppELS Book of the Month for May, and for this academic year, is "The Swiss Family Robinson" by Johann David Wyss.

This novel follows the adventures of a small family stranded on a deserted island after their ship crashes. Since the children's book was first published 1812 it has inspired multiple retellings, including a Disney film released in 1960.

The AppELS Book of the Month for April is "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by Frank Baum.

This children's novel has inspired many other pieces of media since it was first published in 1900. It follows the whimsical adventures of a little girl named Dorothy as she explores the fantastical Land of Oz.

AppELS student Kui Chen had a very sucessful presentation last Monday!

The AppELS Institute is co-hosting a game night next Tuesday, April 18th, that is open to all App State students! Join us to make new friends and intercultural connections while playing different card and board games. Game night will take place in room 169 of the Plemmons Student Union at 5pm.
