Another baby shower gift for another couple of good friends & parents to be 💗

I’ve been loving watching my friends move through these new phases of life, and I feel so lucky to have the time to really put care into these pieces for them and challenge myself with new designs and techniques (something I would not have had the time to do if I was still filling custom Etsy orders 8hrs a day). I cannot wait to meet baby Armstrong this summer!!!

Some little (big) life updates & Happy National Library Week!! 📚✨

As some of you know, I took a temporary position at my local library last summer to help with the slow season for my Etsy shop. While I was there, I fell in love with the public library, and found that I actually didn’t want to leave. So, when a permanent position was offered to me, I made the difficult decision to stop being a full-time artist and continue my work at the library.

I love the library and I love my job. I love getting to create a welcoming and safe space that people can come to for help, for community, and for literature. But this decision has led to a lot of changes for Emma Jayne Embroidery. Fewer commissions, fewer vending events, and completely removing custom quote embroideries from the Etsy shop, to name a few. And now, even more changes are coming.

I just recently got accepted into the Masters of Library and information Science program and the University of North Carolina Greensboro! (online, I’m not leaving you, Boone!!) I’m so excited to continue moving forward on this path, but it is bittersweet knowing I’ll have to continue scaling back my small business. I’m so grateful for all the love and support you’ve all given me over these years, and continue to give me as I navigate these big life changes. I couldn’t have made it six whole years as a full-time artist without you guys. Thank you for helping me make that dream a reality 💗

A lot has changed this year. As some of you know, I took a part time job at my local library back in May. It was originally supposed to be temporary for the summer, but I ended up loving it so much I decided to accept a permanent position!

Some of you have noticed the changes I’ve made to Emma Jayne Embroidery now that it’s not my full time job (fewer commissions, vending fewer events, fewer posts on social media, etc). I’m working on finding a balance between my job at the library and my small business, so keep an eye out for some big updates and changes in 2026!

Merry merry! Wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has shopped small and supported my business this holiday season! Between the Etsy orders, art markers, and personal requests I’ve gotten from people, I am definitely feeling the love and I’m SO grateful 🎄🫶🏻

Got to teach an embroidery class for Jane Austen’s 250th birthday celebration at the library this weekend! This was my biggest class yet, and my first time teaching kids! I had a blast, thank you to everyone who joined! 🫶🏻

Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like vending the holiday market at 🫶🏻 This is the only market I’m doing this holiday season, and I’m so glad I chose this one! Everyone that works at The Mustard Seed, all the customers, and my fellow vendors are just the best. Thank you all for such a delightful weekend! ❤️🎄
